They are. I had one of these on a gig not long ago through a pair of GK 210 cabs (which are a bit more old school sounding than the newer 12/15 based Neo-II's and III's) and it was amazing. I'd forgotten how cool it was to push an all tube amp into that wonderful sweet creamy harmonic land at "the edge", and get into that musical natural compression. Great with a P, but drool-worthy with a J... especially an ash/maple J with single-coils... just sayin'. :)

It is as Vic described: "GLORIOUS". :D Yes, Vic's right again, the J loves this amp a little more than the P.
Will get into it more on the weekend.

I am definitely taking the flats off of the PJ5. I'm going to get some Blue Nickel Rounds very soon. Anybody need some flats? Hardly used.

I've always loved Fender's take on bass tone back in the day. I had a mid 60's 212 Bassman amp way back when and only got rid of it because it just couldn't quite keep up with the hard rock I was playing at the time. I'd be embarrassed now to admit what I replaced it with, but at least it was a lot louder. :hmm:

I did the same thing with a 50's Bassman 50w tube head. Much like a ton of other things I wished I had kept it.
