Club Sadowsky!!!

I listened on headphones this morning and I am really pleased with the bass sound. The engineers nailed the tone I always wanted (probably didn't hurt that I was playing the Sadowsky through a Reddi either). I also had a touch of reverb going the whole time, which I'm glad I did.

Great bass Joey!

Here's my new one: alder body, Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, nitro finish in shoreline gold and single coils. Still getting used to the single coils, but changing the strings to sadowsky blue's really helped, the d'addario prosteels were just way too zingy/trebly

Many in the Salsa world knew that Ruben Rodriguez suffered a serious bout with PNEUMONIA and was in intensive care about 6 weeks ago or so. Today he gave me a call to come over to my place and give the SADOWSKY basses a run. Here is a pic of him at my place, many that are into SALSA music know the history of Ruben, he has played with some of the biggest names in the salsa world and has traveled the world playing Salsa for the past 30 years or so, it was an honor to have him over. Thanks Ruben and i am truly glad your health is getting better.

I know it's a bit grainy, but here's a photo from July 8th. I got back to Chicagoland around 11PM Friday night, got the necessities of my gear on Saturday from my Mom's house (she stored most of my gear while I was in Virginia), and played this gig Sunday night.

This is my trio, Cam's Tie. We've been one of the house bands for the Uptown Poetry Slam since October 2008. This group was the last gig I did before shipping to boot camp (about 2 weeks prior) and was the first gig I did when I got back to the city (about 10 months later). The venue is great, the Slam cats are awesome, and it felt amazing to be back home.

Oye! hats off to Rubensito, he helped put Sir George and company on the map... DLG, La India, Marc Anthony, Frankie Negron and Etc... man we owe the greatest homage to the man the legend... Ruben Rodriguez .... the modern Sal Quevas of today's modern salsa bass players without a shadow of a doubt, the greatest funk salsa session player ever....

EEekkkk, what a great day yesterday!! First i have a NBD with a new 5 string Wal, a productive practice Jam session with my band, and Kevin sending me a raw body photos!! :D Now to take Joey's advise and forget about the build again to lower down the excitement!!!:rolleyes:

On a side note, its kinda funny how these raw body photos remind me when I first saw my daughter in her ultrasound. Not that i would EVER mention this to my wife cause its a completely different experience for her (and often at times very uncomfortable), but the excitement and anticipation of both seems similiar IMO.:bassist:
