I've got a couple Sadowsky newbie questions. I've been browsing the club thread for info because I have a UV70-5 on it's way to me now.
I see that there's a 500k volume pot upgrade that is recommended - how do I know if my bass already has this or not? Also I see that the HC pickup design changed a couple years ago...any way for me to tell what pickups I have?
Thanks!
Just FYI, even if you find yours doesn't have it, it's a fairly trivial change, and the part is super cheap directly from Sadowsky. The only real issue is, the hole on the plate needs to be made slightly larger, so someone with a drill press would be good to know... just to make sure the hole is done very cleanly and on-center. Other than that, super quick swap job.I've got a couple Sadowsky newbie questions. I've been browsing the club thread for info because I have a UV70-5 on it's way to me now.

I found this last night reading through the Sadowsky forums last night.
It looks like mid 2009 and up have 500k.

What is the diff between 250 and 500, tone-wise?
So i see Metros selling used for $1800-$2000, depending on condition, so i would think $1000 more would be fair for an NYC. So why is my AAAAA Quilt topped NYC PJ4 still here!?!? I have it at $2999 shipped, is that a fair price and if not, what is a fair price? Damn economy
There's been a lot of posting on this in the past, but I think it all basically boiled down to getting the HC pickups to sound a little more like the SC pickups... maybe a bit more high end, maybe a touch more upper mids, etc. Opinions varied on the significance of the change, but I think it was unanimous that it was an improvement, and when you factor in the microscopic cost to do it, it's kinda' like a "not red hot urgent, but no reason not to" kinda' thing. What is the diff between 250 and 500, tone-wise?
