On a gig this week playing my NYC PJ5 with George Lynch git player... Fun jammin with him... we did a few old Dokken tunes too... Most fun that i have had in a while! Ive gone back to the Rev P Duncan pup.... Bass still is wonderful
He has that Brown tone from his amp.. just a smokin great sound... He has some amp named a Freeman thru some old Marshall cab..

Hi Rodger, I think 1200 or even higher like 1.3Khz. I think 250 800 and 1200 ish are useful tone centers for a 3-way.
The other thing I would add in the way of a comment (less vital than 3 way) selectable high freq center for the treble control. Maybe add that to the board on a dip switch. 4khz or 8khz would be cool.

They are to put on the ends of lower stand "forks" so the rubber doesn't do damage to the body finish, especially with nitro.

I tell you what, Roger really think of everything. I am extremely impressed with ow well I think he can read the minds of bass players! I play a '65 Fender Jazz as my main bass and was looking for a new bass that I could bring to all my gigs and I had literally tried everything because I didn't know what I wanted. I've had Alleva Coppolo's, Foderas, Lakland's and everytime I would play them for a few weeks on the road and come home and play my '65 Fender Jazz and decide to sell because I just loved the sound and feel of my old Jazz. I also loved the weight, I don't know the exact weight of my '65 but it's light.
I also was constantly looking for good gig bags, strong and firm but not too big because I'm always having to get them into the overhead compartments on planes.... I always loved the original InCase gig bags and actually own a few since they became hard to find when they went out of production.
Needless to say the Sadowsky (and the gig bag and sadowsky strap) fit the mold right out of the box.
I think the nut on my '65 is a little narrower than most and that is what first drew me to the Will Lee model. Then it was the spoke wheel adjustment for the truss rod (that's always been my preference and I honestly don't know why every bass hasn't switched to that) then it was this particular bass that had an alder body (like my'65) but a nice flamed top. I am currently selling 2 Foderas with flamed KOA tops and always seemed to like the look. Then the final straw was that the Will Lee model had true single coil pickups. I never really felt like the hum canceling single coils reacted the same as my single coils in the Jazz bass. I don't really know the difference, but I feel that the single coils are a little more punchy and aggressive when you want them to be.
So I ordered the bass and it arrived today.
The gig bag is like an improved version of the InCase bags that I love so much, very nice.
The strap I ordered from Sadowsky actually had holes in the ends that perfectly fit the strap lock buttons!!! I can't tell you how many times I have had to fight and even cut holes bigger on straps to get the strap button to go in.... I don't think this is an accident but just more proof that everything has been thoughtfully planned out wit Sadowsky.
Then the bass, after a few minutes adjusting the string height and the mid adjustments I was able to get a VERY comfortable feel and the warm punchy tone I love from my old Fender.
The icing on the cake was when I stood up with the bass, the strap felt perfect and the weight of the bass seems even lighter than my '65!
I can't wait to start wearing the bass in and seeing how the tone opens up even more as the bass is played.
Not sure why it took me so long to consider a Sadowsky, but I'm glad I did and I glad that someone like Roger exists who put so much time and attention into a product that is worth every penny.

Love you guys (RSB). We also cover(ed) a few of your songs at my church (Kensington Community Church in Detroit area).
I'm on my first WL, but about my 15th Sadowsky. Just wait until you get that bass on the gig.....on man does it just light the room up!
I have the mids on mine set to the stock setting and it's just perfect to get in there and cut through a lot of the layering/delayed guitars a lot of CCM music has in it these days.

Agreed.
The neck has a nitro finish that reacts poorly to certain types of rubber and it will leave chemical burns on the neck itself when touching the rubber of some stands. They include the fuzzy neck protectors in order to keep your bass neck in good condition.

It is for the neck support. Most of our bodies are not finished in Nitro. We do include body Nitroguards when necessary.

Still in the planning process for ordering my first custom NYC Sadowsky, and I am heavily leaning toward the Vintage Shoreline Gold Finish (like the one currently in stock). In any event, I made up some MOCK-UPs to try to help me decide what pick guard I want to go with it. What do you guys like best??? I will definitely get an extra guard and possible even two, so feel free to give your top 3 choices. Keep in mind that it will have a master grade flame maple board.

I like black or parchment, either lets the gold shine without too much distraction. At first I oohed at the black pearl but I think it detracts from the main color. Nice bass.
