On a side note, at least at last measurement, we're the same. I'm just under 5,10, but I round to 5,9 so folks don't think I'm concerned about a few inches... DOH!... too late... ;) :D

nothing wrong with black. was told that black is the easiest color for the graphic designers / photogs to work with in publicity material. :)

I'm holding my April 2004 NYC MV5 up against an Alleva Coppolo LG-5 (which is a full size J5) and not seeing hardly any difference.

This might explain why the bass looks kinda' big on me, but I thought all the NYC J's were smaller bodies?? I thought only the Metro UV's were full size J's?

IIRC, 5-string reduced size bodies are the same size (minus neck pocket) than 4-string reduced size bodies so the attached photos can give you an idea of the difference in size between a full size body (tight fit on a modern case) and a reduced size body (good fit but not tight).
As you can see, the difference is not that much.

Hey Vic,

Here's a pretty good side by side of the Alleva and my Sadowsky. Since the pickguards are very similar, you can see, as Fran mentions, that the primary difference is a thinner width profile (from top to bottom) at the 'tuck'. The lower part of the body and the length of the body are almost identical.

I believe part of the 'size' issue in your photo is that natural bass finish on a black shirt. I remember my blond Celinder just looking HUGE on me for the same reason.

And, you know what the girls say... big bass, big.... :D

Ok, yeah, I can see that. I just had both in the rack with the 24F, which of course is even smaller (which I didn't recall originally) so by comparison, without looking closer, both J's kinda' looked the same.

And yeah, if folks think that Sadowsky looks big on me, seriously, that natural Celinder made me look like a 5 year old! :D

I gigged this sweet, slightly off-color Seafoam blem Sadowsky P with a jazz neck last night, and had a wonderful outing. It is a magnificent instrument, and I felt the tone was just perfect. Great punch and just the right amount of grit; the bass felt comfortable, like I'd been playing it for years. Going back to a Sadowsky basic P-bass is like hanging out with a good, old friend, but without the faults & bad habits.

It's my first experience with a Metro, and the first Sadowsky I've bought directly from the Company (sorry Roger). I couldn't be happier.

The gig was a jammy, folk/rock/bluegrass ensemble with a great singer songwriter and a wonderful guitarist along with fiddle & keys in a small venue and a single Bergie 12 and the Walter Woods were sufficient. An old friend who is a great Latin bass player and one of my early teachers showed up, and I had him sit in a couple of tunes while I sat back and dug the tone. Everyone agreed that the new P-bass sounded superb.

It came with the new blue end wrap strings. I really like them. I wonder what the difference is between them and the black label (silver end wrap) ones?

My first Sadowsky! Hybrid Metro. No Frills but it sounds really good. Did some recording with it today and favored it over my Spector for the most part. Sadowsky=>Sansamp=>console.

In all fairness the Sansamp kinda kills the Spector tone IMO.

Love the feel of the Sadowsky and the tone is straight up Super Fender, exactly what I wanted.
