This is the AAA Quilted Maple top I was offered for my NYC 5-24
And I just received these photos of the sprayed body. That's a Burgundy Burst...
I'm very excited.
It will also have a birdseye maple board with no face dots and black hardware.
Man, that is really sweet! I love Roger's quilts (he always seems to have the best quilted maple out there!) and I love, love, love that burgundy burst!

I'd bet money that everyone on this thread would love to see progress pics of anyone's Sadowsky in the works. At least I love that stuff and always ask that to be provided on new basses being made as much as they can do it.

I cannot believe that it took me so long to post the pictures of this. I bought this back in August directly from the shop. KILLER tone. It is an all original 1998 -- apparently the previous owner didn't play very much!

there's a really nice photo of walter becker with his Sadowsky modern 4 string, maple neck and quilted maple top,( i think its caramel burst) in the new issue of 'SOUND ON SOUND' mag. he also shows his set up for recording for the steeley dans new album, which is all Sadowsky, i guess he'll be plying his sadowsky guitar as well on it.

First gig with my single coiled, full size, NYC V4. It simply smoked: killer tone, perfectly in tune for the whole set (2h15min.).

Nice! I'm TOTALLY digging my RV5 after the single coil swap. Talk about fat and grindy! And still totally digging the MV5 single coiled, non routed 'orange bomber' also. Wonderful sounding basses!
My MV5/SC is going to be playin' da' bloooz tonight... I'm looking forward to it!!!
So I just got home from recording this past weekend. This was my first time recording with my Sadowsky. I could not be more happy with the tone.
I basically ran it in active mode, preamp flat, VTC up full, both pickups equal, directly into the board. My band, like myself, was absolutely blown away with the tone. It was so full and warm, with just enough sizzle, and sat in the mix perfectly.
Our guitar player is also our recording engineer and he kept on commenting on how he has to do almost nothing to the bass in the mix.
I've recorded with mostly Fenders and MusicMan basses, but my Sadowsky is by far the best I've ever heard.
If you havent done some full band recordings with your Sadowsky yet, go do it! I'll have to wait till everything is mixed and mastered, but I'll post some clips up ASAP.

Just boost the lows a bit and you eliminate the "almost" in your post
You know what, going into it with my settings I thought we'd have to boost the lows, but to be honest, it doesnt need it at all.
All he wants to do is use a little bit of compression and I think add a touch of reverb to one part in a song. Other than that I think the bass tracks are staying how they are. I'm super happy with the way they sound.
