I often read comments that morado is closer to maple. Regardless, folks believe that it's snappier than the usual rosewoods. That seemed to be true on my Fender RB5's.
Morado is somewhere in the middle to me.
Fingerboard woods are odd to me. I have all kinds of opinions about them but I struggle to verbalize them. I know it isn't visual, as I actually think the rosewood board look better, but there is some not fully explainable combination of sonic/tactile preference that I just cannot deny.
Having read the wood thread, maybe I am feeling something that is making me hear, hearing something that is making me feel or both. Maybe I am imagining both!!!
But every time, the maple necks make me happier.
I get more of my happy vibe from Morado than I get from the various RWs being sold by various makers - and even more from BRW. Granted my experience with BRW was the NYC modern I played for a while. It could have been something else making my happy. It was a killer bass.
