Club Sadowsky!!!

I bought my NYC Standard 4 used about 10 years ago. It quickly became my #1 player and was the beginning of my love affair with Sadowsky's (I currently own four).

I've always been a little curious about it's age. It's bridge looks like all my other (newer) Sadowsky's but the body contours are slightly different. It also has a neck plate and one of the football shaped jack plates. It originally did not have VTC, but one was installed at the shop, along with the D-tuner and pickguard by the previous owner. Based on what I've read on the main Sadowsky site, the serial # makes it prior to 2004. It has "NYC 2/01" written on the inside of the control cover.

All these things make me think it was probably built early 2001. Anyone have any other thoughts/input?

Nice Sadowsky. My guess is Feb. 2001.

Usually the basses of that year had a different bridge. I bet it was replaced.
I had an '08 Standard 4 that had the football jack and neck plate as well. They moved away from those in 2010 I believe. Very nice Standand!

Anyone using a Hercules tall stand on a NYC Bass? The kind of stand that holds the bass suspended by the headstock but leaning against the two legs. Does the rubber affect the finish or should I use protection?

I can tell you that my bass is always at hand in one ofthese Hércules stands and there is not a shadow of decoloration or stain on the neck.
