Due to the weight factor, I don't take mine out to play very often, but there probably isn't a bass on earth that wouldn't sound great through that rig.
Amen! I was able to make my PLAYING sound bad through it, but that's another thread...
I didn't even ask if it was for sale because I didn't want my heart broken, but I definitely see why y'all rave about that amp!

Mooradian is exclusive gig bag I use for all my basses.. Light weight/well packed and balance, best back pack strap too..you can't go wrong with that and I got 2 singles 1 double now
FYI, I tried almost every gig bags in the market.. Vertigo's, protec's, undercover's, reunion blues's ....I use Portabag for travel and gate check tho.

I did it although I felt like I was committing some sort of sacrilege at the time. Went to my local Mom and Pop and picked up two 250k CTS pots, two P Bass knobs, a Switchcraft output jack and an .047 orange drop cap. Not sure why I thought the preamp had 500k pots in it but the original VTC pot and volume pot were 250k. Did not want to mess up the original preamp so I removed it as an assembled unit. I installed the output jack in the "standard" P Bass position.
Definitely has a nice grind to the upper mids with real nice low mid grind too. Clacky is exactly the word I would use to describe the upper mids previously to installing the Aguilar pickup, especially on the A string between c and f. Had some kind of weird overtones in that range, I always thought it was just the build materials but it seems to be pointing to the preamp some how? My PJ Metro didn't have a hint of clackyness (not actually a word). Every build does sound different. I feel the Aguilar is a little on the deeper/darker side of the tone scale. I may have to try the original again for the heck of it. With how easy the control cavity is to get at it takes minimal effort to swap pickups in and out.
A big +1 on the stability of these necks and build quality...impeccable!

Duh, I must have been sleeping when I answered. I actually had an ultralight, but gave it to a friend, along with a vintage bass as a gift. Both ended up stolen in SF last October, along with most of her band's gear from their van.!!!!!!
As of now I mostly use a Portabag. One thing that really bugged me about the Portabag was the zipper eventually separated from the bottom area of the case, which made it impossible to close. I took it to a professional upholsterer who did the best he could to repair it, but it is not perfect by any means. And the repair cost me $150! So, to me, the zipper quality is a design flaw. Other than that, the only thing that is a little bit bothersome echos what bassgod said...when carrying it with the backpack straps, it sometimes bangs me in the back of the legs. I can live with that tho. The front and back handles are very nice, and I use them
+1 on the zipper issue...mine gave out after two years of regular use; I also took mine to an upholsterer (mother in law) but nothing could be done for it so I'm stuck opening the case halfway until I can buy a replacement. I'm not rough on my cases so it definitely needs looking at if they haven't already.
Looking at getting the iGig G515...anyone using one of those?

I like the MONO cases. Vertigo is nice, lacks storage unless you by the MONO Tick that attaches to the bag.

I had an I gig once, had these weird bat wings on it that I never understood, eventually sold with the bass it held.
I've been using my iGig bags for a few years now and never had a issue. I got a pretty sweet deal at he time when I purchased them.

Yeah, the upholsterer I went to is very good. But he said that there simply was not enough material on the zipper sides to secure stitches to when he repaired it, so he ended up stitching very close to the metal teeth, which makes it very tough to use and also is now subject to failure if stressed to much. I hope Roger Sadowsky redesigns that zipper somehow, because I really like all other aspects of the Portabag. However, I'm not sure I would buy another, based on that zipper. I could have bought another case with what I paid for the repair.
Somebody should let Roger know, I'm sure he's interested. I've got three of them and use them exclusively over the past couple of years, haven't had a zipper problem yet but I'll be more careful.
I agree the Portabag appears to have the best design of currently available bags; aside from the zipper issue that everyone seems to agree on.
I am STILL using two Reunion Blues bags from back in the day when they were well made. One is the cordura version of the bag they made specifically designed for the Fender bass shape. The RV4 pretty much lives in that bag. The other is the original generic shape in leather. I've had them for about two decades now, and have used them exclusively; so, they are both well travelled. Both are awesome and seem ready to go another 3 decades. So, they may well be passed on to the next generation.

Let's be fair: a few have had the zipper problem (not "everyone"). Yes, a few instances is disconcerting, but some of us (including me) have used the Portabags regularly for years without having any problems.
Guys/Gals: not to change the subject but some of you have known me for years as a home/hobby player. Last night was my first real jam session for an all girl band. I was stoked and so ready for it! They liked me and I guess I'm in! Another jam session Tuesday night!
