Still have it, and use it regularly.
It's just so amazingly dependable in getting the job done it's "almost invisible" sometimes.
No one notices that "its some amazing boutique bass" or whatever.
Just show up, pull it out, lay it down and move on.

Been debating on getting a 5 string. Never been a 5 string guy. So playing a few locally trying to convince myself I can actually play that wide of a neck. Played one at the local store that made me appreciate the low weights of my Sadowsky basses even more. Brand new to stock Fender American something or other 5 string that felt like it weighed every bit of 15 pounds. Can't even imagine playing that thing standing up for more than one song, especially being middle aged with a questionable lower back.
My NYC 5 is about 8.5 lbs and I'm not a 5 string person either but it does come in handy for when I want it/ need it. I can't imagine living without it either!
I had a Fender Custom Shop Jazz 5 and it was nice but it was very heavy and it just didn't feel good when playing. Something that expensive should have been better.

My VM4 was delivered to me on Thursday but have not had a chance to sit down with it. I have been working non stop. I had a chance today to finally play it and it's buzzing like a chain saw. I don't want to mess around to much with the set up but the action is really low and know it's causing the noise. Should I turn the truss rod a notch and raise the saddle a bit. Any others have a bad buzz with a new Metro? I love the bass and the build is the best I have seen, just thought it would play better. It was only in transit a day as I live 50 miles from NYC.
You got it directly from the shop? Why wasting time on this here? Just give them a call and they'll take care of it.
I will on Monday, they are closed on the weekend. I loosened the truss a notch and it's much better. Just needed a little relief.

I made a comparison video today of the Sadowsky Humcancelling pickups vs the Single coil jazz pickups. Everything I've ever read online has been people trying to describe the sound of these pickups using close-to-meaningless words that we bass players have invented meanings for, so I thought this might help some people.
Nice. Both great sounds that will work in the mix. In fact, I have yet to find any pickup I don't like with Roger's preamp.
I swapped the pups to single coil in the RV5 I gigged for a couple of years. Just to add to the meaningless descriptions out there; I find the SC's more "guttural" with their lower mid structure, which to me is reminiscent of the tone I used with my old Fenders. As a bass player, I prefer that, but doubt any non-musician could pick out the nuances in a busy mix.
The only thing you didn't show is the difference when you step out on a stage with heavy duty neon lighting. I had that happen at Harrah's Ak-Chin Casino here in AZ.

As well shielded as the basses are, the neon lighting will make the instrument with SC's howl like a banshee in any setting other than balanced. You can not pan at all with SC's on that kind of stage.

Nice playing.
The diff b/t HC and SC may be trivial to some, but it was a complete deal-breaker (maker!) for me.
My first RV5 came with (the stock) HC's, and I was immediately ready to declare myself NASG (Not A Sadowsky Guy) until Vic told me to swap the single coils in.
The HC's felt very mid-shy, to me. Big Lows, Big High, kinda invisible in the middle. Very Not My Thing.
The SC's felt much more right to me. I could hear the mids, I could hear the round wounds. More Grind, when you want to dig in and bring some nasty.
Very much better; for my prefs.
