i'm with ya, good buddy, on digging the WL neck profile on a fiver. for me the deal-maker is the narrower nut width; that taper suits my hand beautifully, down in the money frets.

i figure the standard vintage model's neck is great for someone who likes the feel of a P neck, but the WL is better for a J-lover.

Just so I am clear, you are giving your Sadowsky in a Port-a-Bag to the gorilla baggage handlers to put in the hold for your flights? That's amazing.

In a word, yes.

The first time I flew with a bass, they wouldn't let me carry on. They said it's too big to bring in board. As I said previously, I've checked it numerous times and so far, no problems. Usually, I insure it for the value of the bass.

(Full disclosure: I actually don't own a Sadowsky bass but I do own it's "cousin," a Valenti bass; equipped with a Sadowsky on board pre amp, often strung with Sadowsky Blue label nickels, with a Sadowsky comfort strap, in The Sadowsky Portabag, and I have a Sadowsky outboard pre amp in my carry on for my other passive basses.)

Today is the one-year anniversary of receiving my Sadowsky! So just a quick post and a couple of photos.

I wanted a Metro MV4 in Trans-Blue with maple fingerboard. I couldn't find one, so I put in an order for one and waited the 6 months. It arrived one year ago today.

It's the best bass I've ever had or have even played. It's a lifetime keeper. I'm glad I waited for the color I wanted. The T-Blue is still as beautiful to me as it was on day #1. The bass plays awesome and sounds incredible. It's perfect.

One year, over 70 gigs, still in love. Thanks Sadowsky!

Can't believe it's a year already, I remember when you posted that you got it.

Still love the look of it, glad you're happy.

I changed the strings and battery on my red PJ today, and the inscription inside the chamber reminded me I've had it 14 years. It plays beautifully. I can't imagine being without it, and I know that one day after I'm gone, somebody will be playing and enjoying it as much as I have.

TB'er @Fran Diaz is a very busy player and has taken on the task of keeping up Club numbers. He is quite diligent, but also has a lot of other stuff going on. You can PM him or wait, and he will get to the assignments eventually. This is a nice and talented bunch of folks in this club.

How custom are Sadowsky builds? If I needed a 5 string with 16.5mm string spacing at the bridge, would they build it for me?

I have a 2014 Metro Will Lee 5. Headstock is 17mm thick - definitely thicker than any of my other basses. Do you happen to know if this would have the graphite strips? Or any other way to tell? I can PM you the serial# if that helps.

Just curious, btw it's an absolutely gorgeous instrument - the best I've ever owned.

Graphite was gradually introduced in the Metro models during 2013. As if Jan 2014 and serial #7222, all Metro basses have graphite strips.
