New Sadowsky Day!!! I stumbled into this Ultra Vintage last Sunday. Already have a featherweight Metro PJ5 but dreamed of an NYC with P body. My new friend Dave in Austin had this, and I couldn't pass it up. We just picked it up on the way down to the TX coast for long weekend. Wife wasn't super happy, but I am. Brought my laptop and GuitarPort for lots of jam time ignoring the in-laws. I will probably add Tort.

Metro PJ5 will probably be in classifieds soon. I'll be a little sad because that's my main player. 4 Sadowskys is too many for Burwabit, I'm afraid.

Love the color/finish!

Some bass porn to share, done a big band gig with my #1 NYC Standard 5 last night - GREAT TONE, didn't bring this one out for so long because this bass mainly serves as studio bass and also I'm not really into playing a fancy wood topped bass in the gig anymore.. :P

I just passed six months since my deposit on my NYC and my fiancé is starting to get worried about how much time I spend going through random pages of this thread :wacky:
Tell her it's normal & not to worry.
I only have 2 Metros & not even waiting on a NYC build, but I'm still on here at least once a day.
If I had a build in process I would probably make this my home page:)

I've owned a few boutiques, and Sadowsky shielding is as good as it gets if not better.

Real world anecdote: there have been numerous warnings about coated strings causing buzz/hum. This is because the coating can break the ground contact between strings and bridge saddles (and between hands and strings too, I guess). Roger himself has warned about this. Gotta say though that I've been using coated strings (Elixir Nanowebs, DR Neons) on my NYC P5 for many years, and haven't had an issue -- and I'm a guy that loves sizzly, overdriven tones where noise would immediately be noticeable. It might help that the pickup on my P-only P5 is a fully-humbucking split-coil, but regardless, I'm impressed.

The caveat about coated strings is absolutely valid; I don't mean to rebut that. Bottom line is that my Sadowskys stay quiet even in crappy conditions.

I can 100% to that quiet quiet quiet

I'm reinstalling the Sadowsky pre in a PJ5 (it came with a Nordy pre). Wiring downloads aren't working on the Sadowsky website. For normal Sadowsky pan pot wiring (reverse of typical), does the white neck pup wire go on left or right - see clipped off remains in pic below? And does order matter for the black ground wires?
