As does my MV4... love it. I was trying to imply since bass strings are relatively expensive, ramen noodles are the course of main fare...

... and now, I have to see whether they do double duty as bass strings... maybe, get some MSG pickups, to complement them.

Anyhow, I got it done, bass sounds great (of course), and I'll post up pics tomorrow AM.

After all that, I sent the bass to the shop yesterday for Lisa to take a look at the preamp. My blend pot replacement has the tone and everything where it should be; but, the instrument only has about 75% of the output capability that all my other Sadowsky preamp equipped basses have. Which was the way things were before the the blend pot went out.

Which is probably enough to work with; but, I tend to be distracted by things like that, which I know aren't really right. This was kind of a tough call, because the bass has been out more than it has been in. Still, the bones are great, and I'm just on a mission to get it where it should be.

I thought about just installing a new 4 knob preamp, because honestly the mid boost does absolutely nothing for me. But, again, that wouldn't really be right either.

Anyhow, I talked to Lisa and she kindly agreed to take a look at it. To paraphrase, the bass is in awesome hands with Sadowsky!:thumbsup:

I've been waiting for almost 1 year, but (as always), it'll be worth it... Got these pictures a few months ago. I'm stoked, but the last days / weeks are really the hardest. I asked for neck pics a few times (I'm dying for more pics - I love those production shots - poor Peter), and while there's a little delay 'cause they had to redo my neck (I spec'ed a rosewood one, and they can't ship that outside the US anymore as you all know), I think it shouldn't be long anymore.

Agreed on the "last days/weeks" thing, soon be my turn and the fading sparkle finish on your new bass is really killing!!!!

It's been only a week for me and it's like torture to wait for a build to get completed! I don't know why I just didn't settle for a newly built one or even a used one..

Most of us here have gone thru the new build anticipation....it's part of the excitement. But, once you get your custom instrument in your hands, the wait will seem like nothing at all. Enjoy the experience!!! I still love mine and it's been 5 years!

You're right! Being a lefty, I've been there a few times already, but the last days/weeks keep being the hardest time and time again.

Although the new one isn't here yet, my GAS level went very high when I saw 'The Dark Horse' (the peacock blue with burled maple top- I'm sure some of you remember this bass) on social media. I'd love a 5-24 in that finish, but that's something for the -long- future...

I still remember the arrival of my first Sadowsky back in 2009. While opening the box and taking out the case, I thought for a second that they'd forgot to put the bass in the case. Needless to say, the weight was a real shocker! Alas, this bass is now gone. It might be one of the few ever that I regret selling. Luckily, I got two other Sadowsky basses to keep me company for now. I'll post a family shot once the new one gets here. In the meanwhile, I love looking at this thread and your basses!
