Welllp... Pat Wilkins finished the mods and the bass arrived Saturday. That wasn't enough; so I installed a set of the Delano JMVC pickups I favor on Monday, and.... the neck pickup was a no show. After some amount of diagnostics, it turned out that the center stab on the blend pot tier closest to the plate had checked out.
So, I ordered 5 MN250k pots on Amazon. They arrived this afternoon at 5PM, and I put one in before dinner. I will tell you that replacing that pot is a significant PITA. Definitely one of the more challenging bass repairs I've done. Trying to get the iron down in that cavity through a forest of #24 wires and attach multiple wires onto the stabs is most entertaining. And then, of course, it turned out that the thread barrel was a smaller diameter, even though the part number was identical. Apparently they come in different sizes, same part number. Oh, yeah. Anyhow, I got it done, bass sounds great (of course), and I'll post up pics tomorrow AM.
