Can the NYC Deluxe satin series basses be ordered direct from Sadowsky or are they only offered through dealers?
So any Sadowsky fretless owners out there (or in here) these days? Curious about your thoughts on your bass.
Koa NYC fretless owner here. Bass has alder body w/ebony and rosewood veneer lines. I enjoy it quite a bit!So any Sadowsky fretless owners out there (or in here) these days? Curious about your thoughts on your bass.

You are out of control..
Love mine! (headstock in my avatar)...it's a 5-24 spalted maple top/mahogany body, unlined ebony fb, with soapbars in the modern location. Cuts really well, in a band setting. So any Sadowsky fretless owners out there (or in here) these days? Curious about your thoughts on your bass.

I typically roll out with roundwounds, VTC rolled off all the way, and with both pickups. The most responsive fretless I've ever played/owned (Pedulla/Warwick/Rob Allen/RickTurner/Modulus/etc). Every variation of technique comes through which actually makes it difficult to play unless you're on top of your game.
I liken it to an even-fatter Jaco tone with both pickups, but if you do dial in just that back pickup, you suddenly find yourself with white pants pulled up to your navel, long hair flowing from your sweet African-inspired headband.
Interesting - so that is a full-sized P-body with 21-fret equivalent neck and pickups in the modern position? Never seen that spec. Seems that most s-string fretli are 5-24 config.
It's actually a 20-fret, because 'Jaco only needed 20 frets' ... just kidding. I have my seafoam green NYC PJ5 with 20 frets, and besides, any notes above that high Eb .... Just call Alain Caron on that one.
It's also unchambered ash and the growl from low Eb down to low B is devastating.
