Club Sadowsky!!!

There's something off about it but I can't quite place it.

I've been in that exact factory (part of what I do for a living). They actually make quality stuff, but they only make what they make, no innovation, no real sense of what the product is.... So, if they are instructed to make a 5 string bass with a 4 string PUP, thats what they do....

Willingly changing topic because that Fakeowsky physically hurts me,
You can hear my Fender Precision Sadowsky in action here in a full (3 piece) band mix.
Thomastik flats, neck pickup only, some bass boost and VTC @ 50% approx

Sounded great, @ale29! Unsure of your band's influences, but I hear some Black Crowes catching a headlong flight into a little Bootsie... thanks for sharing!

Roger Sadowsky says they haven't had the first production run yet.

We can finally announce the MetroExpress line today. We will have a few with us at our NAMM booth (#5129) to check out if you are attending the show.

Here's the basic info: The MetroExpress basses will include the legendary Sadowsky preamp as well as Sadowsky pickups, strings, and hardware. Instruments will be available in 4 and 5 string vintage models with the following finishes: black, olympic white, candy apple red, sage green metallic, ice blue metallic, and tobacco burst. Built with either an alder body and morado fingerboard or an ash body and maple fingerboard, each bass is guaranteed to weigh less than 8.9 pounds. Street price is $1875 for the 4-string models and $1975 for the 5-string models.

EDIT: deleted my original post. Roger's response below eased my concerns. Carry on, nothing to see here...
