Ha, lemme know when you see another one priced under the regular Metro models on the used market. That's not been my experience. I have been kinda half-assedly looking for a Metro WL five string used.
I've got one on the classifieds now! It's ash/alder, light for a Metro, and plays and sounds awesome.

I did take note of yours over these last 10 days it had been up, and that's a fair price at $2395... and a beautiful bass... but I don't think it is "less than what a non-Will Lee model would sell for" as Oldtimer suggests is often the case.
Yeah that was a very nice bass. The Will Lee 5 neck is really nice. I would have kept the bass but I just really love alder/rosewood.

My second Sadowsky bass is here. It is a Satin series 4-string, #7904. Ash/Maple, with satin dark lake placid blue finish & tort pickguard.
I have been needing a lighter bass - I play a lot of 4-hour gigs, and an old upper-back injury has been nagging me. I had been considering a NYC build, but the chiropractor, and my wife, and everybody (LOL) was saying that I shouldn't wait for a build, but get an in-stock, lightweight bass, if possible. I found this one on the website, and at 7.63 lbs, it was an easy choice.
I definitely wanted Ash/Maple - that's what my Metroline is, and it's the best sounding bass I've ever played. The dark lake placid blue and tort was a combination I don't think I've ever even seen before, and I wasn't sure how I'd like it, but I am really liking it. My wife thinks it's the best-looking guitar she's ever seen.
Anyways, I've only logged a couple of hours playing it, but my first impression is that it's so close in sound to my Metroline that I have a hard time telling a difference (and I've got 100+ gigs and 1000+ hours on the Metro). Hearing it in the in-ear monitors this weekend will tell for sure. So it sounds like unicorn pixie dust. And the weight, OMG. The bass feels SO LIGHT, and it balances absolutely perfectly. It was perfectly constructed and set up, like you'd expect.
I will try to get some gig photos this weekend. Just wanted to share... if anybody is looking for a super lightweight Sadowsky, keep the Satin series in mind. I wish I'd have done this sooner.

The lighter weight is something I'm looking forward to on my build. I had a hard time choosing that dark LPB or the Sage Green for my Satin build. The green won out, lol.

In other news I'm liking my sadowsky more now. I think my love for my fender comes from it being my #1 for so long so I may always gravitate towards it. But my job as a bassist in musicals requires a 5 string and this gets the job done. I had to play fretless and fretted on a show last weekend and every time I picked up my fretless I thought "man this is heavy, man this isn't as easy to control as the sadowsky, hmmm that B string just isn't the same."
I wish they made a 5 string fretless metro that I could afford. I'd jump on that in a heart beat.
One day maybe I'll get 2 custom sadowskys, one fretless and one fretted. I'll start saving my loose change now.
