Club Sadowsky!!!

I was on the fence for awhile with my NYC 5-21...ended up having two guards made, but had the bass shipped with the Vintage Pearl installed. Glad I did!

I’ve yet to take or see a pic, that really reflects how amazing the VP guard looks in person...sorta 3D! Here’s the best pic I’ve got...View attachment 3053998

Anyone have a source for knobs like these? Love the Sadowsky knobs and located some black ones that are very very similar (identical?) to the black ones on my Metro and installed them on a bass... but I have another bass that would benefit aesthetically from a set of the chrome silver ones, as on the bass pictured in the quoted post herein. TIA. Your help is appreciated.

Did any of you (besides me) get rather impatient the last few weeks waiting for your first NYC to be finished? This suspense is killing me, lol.... I keep looking at all the amazing basses that end up on the stock page and that only makes it worse. :roflmao: :banghead: :roflmao:

I guess it's my turn for @Sadowsky to say "Patience Grasshopper".......

****insert Kung Fu GIF here****

Yes. As the build time nears it is very a natural reaction to get impatient. But i can say from experience. It will be worth every second of the wait.

Just felt like posting a pic of mine after all the knob talk. Metro UV60 I bought from a talkbasser but found the original store's listing on Reverb and saved all the glamour shots. Still feel super lucky to have this Bass!

I’m right there with you! I’m currently towards the end of my wait for the first NYC and it’s getting tough to be patient, but luckily for me I was able to experience what a long wait was like in another hobby (11 months for a handgun suppressor). To be completely honest, any time I start to get restless waiting for my NYC build I just think back to how long ago I started this process with Lisa and Peter and the time remaining doesn’t seem so bad in grand scheme of things.

I have no doubt that my NYC will definitely be worth the wait, but frankly any time I could spend bothering Peter for an update would be better spent woodshedding or handling the “business” side of playing music.

Very true!

I'm just now two months past my original estimate date - I know it's in good hands but I'm running out of fingernails to chew on! Nubs!

Besides Warmoth I've only had one other "custom" build (not going to mention by name) and that was two years of torture for a crap product. And then a rebuilt crap product after the first one had a neck/fingerboard separation. o_O

I'm really looking forward to this one knowing it's coming from such a respected shop.

As part of my ongoing Bass Gear Magazine podcast interviews, I had a nice chat with Roger last week. Invalid Link Removed.

Nice... guess the cat is a little more out of the bag... Roger talks a little bit more about the super-P pickup that the shop has been prototyping/testing.
