I just put the inlay bass up on the site... it is really cool.

And swapping the pickguard. Also loosening the strings, then retuning. Then making sure the pickup is mounted at the correct height. Etc.

Don't get me wrong: the universal route and dual pickguards is a very cool way to convert from P to J and back. My point is that it isn't feasible if you want to "swap basses" (pickups) within a gig, recording session, rehearsal, etc. If you need to do that, you bring both a P and a J. That's why I don't think demand will decrease for Sadowsky or any other manufacturer who offers the option. Even if it did, I'd argue that there would be a corresponding increase in demand from those who buy from Sadowsky because of the universal route.

I can totally agree on all those points. My train of thought was how everyone has that one bass which they wouldn’t give up. And how the thought of a conversion would interest someone looking to experiment.

I was there last week!!!! I tried a few of the basses and had me ready to pull the ol CC but then remembered I’d have some explaining to do when the bill comes in lol. And Roger and the crew were all top notch dudes. I enjoyed being there and just asking questions on build designs. I’m a total geek and want to learn everything and they all answered my questions. Like I said they are the very definition of customer service at its best.

High frequency type of noise will happen sometimes when the venue or whatever places you play got dirty electricity, or some lighting system connect with same power source, sadly you just cant get rid of those noise when things happen

So today was the day my bass arrived by mail. Which I had to make some phone calls to push it. And after paying the $132.00 customs charge I was able to bring it home.

I plugged It in and hot that open E and my cat jumped off my chair and took off running. After adjusting the volume and WUAO is realize why people who own Sadowsky basses are so attached to them.

This bass has TONE and POWER. I know it’s not an American made one but this bass just begs to be played. I use a Tech21 Landmark 300 head and a Tech21 bass driver and a Tech21 Qstrip pedal rounded out by a DarkGlass super symmetry compressor pedal. The sound I got just is AMAZEBALLS!

I feel like I’m part of the cool kids club. Lol. My only issue is that I was told the bass would be set up prior to leaving and yeah...there is fret buzz EVERYWHERE on the neck. I’ll have to take it in to get set up. But I’ve only had this bass a few hours and I LOVE IT.

Awesome man congrats . Is their buzzing at the first fret? If so maybe just loosen the truss a little.

If there is no buzzing at the first fret you could tighten it a 1/4 turn or so towards the right.

I made some adjustments to the bridge and got about 70% of the buzz gone. When it comes to the neck I’m leary of messing with it lol. I’m gonna have to take it in...I just got It and now it’s gonna leave me again lol.

Its funny because the bridge is a way tougher adjustment. If it came with the little truss tool you literally just turn it a little. I just did that when i put on my flats.

It will be fine. Id suggest trying it. You want to adjust the truss first and then the bridge anyway.

Truss wheel is there for a reason!

I know, lol patience has never been one of my strong suits. One thing I’ve noticed is the neck. It feels so good. I thought the neck on my Geddy Lee was good but this just feels “right” don’t know if I’m expressing this right.

The neck feels a bit thicker than the GL but it hits that perfect sweet spot. And the width of the neck is PERFECT. Not gonna lie I’m gushing over this bass. Feel like a kid at Xmas. Tonite will be a late night.

Congrats on the bass, this is definitely not the new slapmasters but a Tokyo shop made Sadowsky (Not a metro as well, I believe you knew it is an used bass before the purchase, since the price tag in the pic shown it is used).

Bass is probably setup'ed before shipping but simply temperature can cause the buzz.

Right on man, Sadowsky Tokyo is rock solid. My Metro Vintage 5 is one of the best Sadowskys I've played.

The bass is a 2003, I’m not sure what line it is. I let it sit for a few hours in the room to get adjusted and it played the same. Fretbuzz everywhere. But I did make a few minor adjustments in the bridge and it’s almost gone.

I personally set my bass up so that it has some buzz. Not enough that it comes through the amp but if it's not buzzing a little when played unplugged, it's probably not set how I like it.

Well I know basses have a touch of Fretbuzz but this was on every string and damn near every fret lol.

But it seems to be playing better now. My only problem now is that I’m at work and can’t play.

I lightened up my touch and went finger style and it still had it everywhere. The bass had the strings practically resting on the frets.

I raised each string maybe a quarter turn on the bridge adjustment. I then took the advice of angel crusher and made a small turn on the neck and it feels a lot better.

I play with a pick (blasphemy I know) so I’m used to having some height on the strings.
