Methinks (another cool word) that at its most basic level, the purpose of this thread is to induce GAS. Resistance is futile.
Actually, as a Sadowsky Metro newbie with a JJ and a PJ, I’m finding that I now have reverse GAS. I’m stoked, and wondering in what order to sell off most of my Fenders, G&Ls, etc. Maybe heaviest first.

Oh, yeah, selling the heavy ones is cool.
Gigged my my new Metro Express this past Friday night for the first time and had a s**t eating grin on my face all night. Build quality is excellent, plays excellent and has the best sound I've ever had live. The sound is huge. (My Greenboy F112 certainly doesn't hurt that at all). I'm so impressed that I'm selling almost all my other basses. Keeping one four string, a fretless four, and the ME 5er.
The Metro Express is everthing I expected from a Sadowsky bass. I think it's gorgeous too. The biggest negative about it is that it's brand new and needs to be worn in haha.
Ok, there is one thing, the jack should be counter bored in a bit so that it sits flush. Excellent jack, but the edge of the flat jack on the curved edge of the bass sticks up a bit. NOT a deal breaker however!!! Still more than happy with it!

Like a Fender P that’s been taking bootleg testosterone shots. Massive. And clearly defined with the blend of the J bridge pickup. Tone heaven IMHO. Can’t put it down!!
On the 4 string, we use our custom would DiMarzio's. We are switching to our custom Duncans on the 5 string.

Are there any significant tonal differences in the new custom Duncan P5 pickups vs. the custom Nordstrands used on your P5's previously? Just curious!

One more, if you will. The Metro PJ4: DiMarzio in both P and J positions? What magnets are in the P? The J? (Alnico or ceramic?) Inquiring minds want to know!!

There is no switchback. We have always used the DiMarzio's on the Metros and the Satins. We switched back to the stacked Duncans a few years ago as our custom stacked design is quieter than the usual 3+2 linear design. We are now going to begin using it on the Satin 5's as well. All of the pickups we use on the NYC Custom built basses are our current custom Duncans.
That's good to hear. I greatly prefer a stacked design 5 string single coil sized pickup to the 3+2 split design. I think they just sound better with better mids.
