I’ve been pondering doing this for a while now. I’ve been playing almost exclusively fretless, and when I do play fretted it is always my Sadowsky Metro M5-24, which I will never part with. I’ve decided to liquidate some excess basses (Sadowsky MV-5, Fender P5, Fender/Warmoth P5 fretless) to help offset the purchase of a new top-notch fretless...apparently the best ones are built in New York City by some guy named Roger?? I’ll be listing a bunch of stuff on TB this evening as a result of my purchasing activity this morning, because, while enjoying my coffee, I called the Sadowsky shop and pulled the trigger on this! My first NYC!

Actually played this one at the shop before NAMM, you will definitely feel happy with this purchase I'm sure plus this bass makes me wanna get a Sadowsky fretless now.. XD

I own a Sadowsky modrn 5 and a Vintage 5. Great basses abviously, and the Modern 5 is to me the best bass I semply ever owned, played, tried, gigged..... However, there is just a little thing about it. I miss the tipycal clean jass bass highs I can hear on my Vintage 5.
Is there any models in the Sadowsky line that could fill this "gap"? Any model that has both the massive modern tone of the Modern 5 and the clean highs of the Vintage 5?

Well, I did tweak with the EQ on both basses and my amp (Mesa Titan V12), but the natural tone of both basses remains.
The Modern still lacks a bit those clean highs and the VIntage 5 lack in this massive super low mid punch.

I would recommend a p/j 5 with both pickups on. This is a very modern sound with more mids than a J. Of course you can also solo either pickup to cop a passable p bass tone or a bridge pickup J bass tone.

I see you're in Europe, but I'm not sure of your region. I recalled seeing this post on Huik's Bass Connection Facebook page when he received it and it's still listed in his stock. If you are handy, maybe you can take a trip and try it before deciding if it's the right bass for you.

My PJ5's P-Pickup has such a big bottom you can see it from the front.
