Club Sadowsky!!!

I'm not sure if I've posted this one before. This one will be with me until the end. NYC PJ5, Olympic White, Brazilian board, Alder body, matching headstock. No matter the genre of music, this bass sits perfectly in the mix.

Hey Joel,

I have pretty much the same bass (minus the matching headstock). It's a great instrument. I recently put single coils in it, since I love those so much in my NYC MV5, but I'm going to put the stock HC's back in that bass. That alder/RW really sits nicely with the voicing of the stock HC pickups to my ear.

Beautiful bass. That matching headstock looks PERFECT!

Thanks Ken. This one is actually a PJ5. I never thought I would dig a PJ but I played three notes on this one and fell in love.

Good stuff!

I'll take those single coils off your hands, Ken! ;) :D

I have updated my Sadowsky clips website with the old HC vs. SC and new SC vs PJ and fretless PJ samplers, you can find it here:

Not great recordings (or playing) but I hope that good enough for those of you that don't have a chance to A/B these basses in real life.

By the way, I'm also back at work on the Club Sadowsky website.

Thanks so much for this.

Coelho: That is one sharp looking bass. :bassist:

And FWIW, my '03 alder/braz.rosewood PJ was killin' last night.

Hey, I gots me a question fer ya fellers wit da PJ5's........

Reverse P or standard P????? And why???

When I get me another job (was laid off last week- gotta love Detroit!) I'm thinkin' of doing the dual pick-guard JJ/PJ thing with my V5. (Nordy P5 p/up BTW- have one in my BB5000- LOVE IT!!)

the reverse p all the way.

low B felt that much tighter and responsive. and the P pickup solo'd still sounded like a P pickup regardless. win/win.

BB5000... Wow... Awesome bass... I had dreams about a BB3000 or BB5000 for ages!

I have a friend that plays in a very successful band, has probably more than 60 basses and is endorsed by MusicMan... But he has been using mostly his BB3000 only.

Yeah, I raped my BB5000.
Yanked out the guts and p/ups and dropped in a Sadowsky pre and Nordy PJ5 p/ups.......

Crazy thing is, it sounds a BILLION times better, but NOTHING like a PJ!!!
I should post up some clips of it. You would think it would sound like a big fat PJ5.....nope!!!! But still sounds stinkin' great!

Just strung it up E-C to have some fun on. :bassist:

fran,

this is most awesome.

I agree!! Nice to hear a comparison!

Thanks so much for this.

Thank you all, I'd like to point out some of these clips have a high frequency noise that go with the notes. This is NOT present on the original recordings, but one of the programs I used to convert to mp3 added it :^(. By the time I noticed it I had already erased the master tracks.
