Okey dokey!! Let me preface this with the fact that when I got the Alder/Indian Rosewood Modern 5 earlier this year I fell hard for it. Something about the tone just called to me. I was a solid J-bass guy for 25+ years and realized very quickly that this tone was what I was trying to get for YEARS. No amount of EQ, new cabs, different heads, etc. got me where I really thought i needed to be. I was satisfied yes, but not "happy". Between the Modern 5 and the Verdine 5 I soon realized those were "my sounds".
Many many thanks to the whole @Sadowsky crew. Roger, Ellis, Carl, @deepestend - you guys are a killer group of people to work with and many thanks to those that I haven't dealt with as well. You guys made my dream a reality and I'm just stunned at how this came out.

Interesting. I've also been pretty much a "J guy" all my life, got my hands on a completely amazing modern, and I just found myself trying to make it sound more like a J. LOL! So I returned "back home" to the J style and couldn't be happier. My older plain jane ash/maple nyc (pretty much the same thing as a Metroline is these days), my newer custom NYC 24 fret, and now the MetroExpress. All three are killer, but the custom NYC is just flat out stupid good for me.

You kindly built my newest Sadowsky with 2 custom ordered Nordstrand BIG SplitMan pickups. With a 3way switch going from the north coil to parallel to the south coil, per pickup, I can go from a high output heavy humbucker tone to thick and bombastic J tones. This bass is highly versatile with endless tonal possibilities when combined with your world class preamp.
In addition to the various pickup settings I have at my disposal, I have another full palette of color to craft my tone with when adjusting the vintage tone control and active treble boost in opposition to each other. With a slight roll off of the VTC, I can easily dial out the fret clacking associated with low action maple fingerboards to a warmer, sweeter tone.
Having played your instruments for nearly the past 20 years now, I can attest that with each passing decade, your instrument design and production continuously elevates from amazing to awe inspiring perfection. Personally, my favorite Sadowsky innovation from the past 20 years have been the chambered bodies which have become standard on your NYC instruments. The added resonance and the sweetening of the mid-range the chambered instruments offer perfectly complements the added mass headstock and graphite reinforced neck. My notes across the 2 octaves of this bass are even for the full 24 frets. I can’t find one deadspot anywhere on this bass!
I am so in love with this bass that just last week I began a new order for another 24fret 5 string. My forthcoming Sadowsky will be equipped with your new Super P & Super J pickups. Again, I am eagerly awaiting the excitement of your latest innovation.

Ugh.... just got home from work to see the tracking info for new my baby and they shipped it to someone else by mistake! They flipped the numbers in my street address... The house number they shipped to doesn't exist!
