You can order the color and model you want through a dealer. We can also refer you to dealers who have them in stock to see if they have what you are looking for.

Thanks to all of you for your very kind words. Nothing means more to me than when the sound guy or the engineer is happy. And when they are happy the player is happy! In many ways my goal is to be transparent.....to not get in the way between the sound you have in your head and what you hear. Club Sadowsky means the world to me!

When I play at our worship center, it is all silent stage. I can't tell you how many different players and techs have asked me what kind of equipment/effects I use to get such a great tone. I just say "a Countryman, a cable and this bass."

You can find info for the imported licensed tuners here:

Look at the dimensional pdf drawing on that page for the bushing. I believe that you need to have a nominal hole of 5/8 inch for the 1/2 inch tuners. You would order the bass side orientation. Take off one of the tuners and measure the hole diameter to verify.

The licensed tuners have a slightly different dimension then the regular USA hipshot tuners from what I remember.

3/8" are smaller than the typical tuner on a Sadowsky which I have only ever seen a 1/2"

I had to replace one of the Hipshot's on my Sadowsky. They were out of replacements and recommended I contact Hipshot as they do not use a stock tuner. Remember most of the Sadowsky's of the last few years had thicker headstocks than the standard Fenders to cut dead spots, so you need a shaft that is a bit longer. I suggest you give Hipshot a call.

OK. So there is a totally hot chick in Tokyo who is 1000x the bass player I will ever be. And her Sadowsky has a way cool pickguard. And her bandmates are also incredible virtuosos. Anything I’m missing here? Yikes, that is awe-inspiring.

Speaking to differences between the product lines;
I think I remember @Sadowsky saying that on the Standard model, the neck pocket was routed slightly deeper in order to keep the familiar body-to-string height that you would find on a vintage Fender or Vintage model Sadowsky. Comparing my NYC custom to Uncle Al’s Metro (yep it’s a Metro) it appears that the neck is set deeper on the NYC. The Metro May have the standard pocket depth for a Vintage model bass(?)

Yes, I forget what year this was changed. My Standard 4 is a 2012 so definitely after that. My Modern 4 is from this year.

At first I thought it may be an anomaly, but I’ve since played and seen other Standards with the same ‘slanted’ FB profile. I’ve come to realize nothing is by accident on these instruments.
