Club Sadowsky!!!

Virtues of the PJ5 setup (with D'Addario Chromes) on a blues gig last night:

Got some compliments on my sound and ... full confession time ... I pretended like I had something to do with it.

ElMon....The sound is all you! My job is only to help you express it!

Sadowsky is the best in the business as far as I'm concerned. Their quality and customer support is what every other company strives for.

I’ve been playing a Sadowsky almost exclusively since 1990. I never got to know Roger socially because there was no need to call except to order things. The basses are perfect, and stay that way, even if you ride them hard and put them away wet as I always have.

The only thing I ever needed was when a drunk bridesmaid knocked my #1 over and the G string tuner bent to a degree that could not be fixed. Roger got a new tuner out a few days later. That’s all I got!

OK ... so for all my 'Jaco' talk ... my lady friend captured some sound from the audience at the exact moment that I switched back to my blended pickup sound, to fatten things up during a solo.

Sadowsky PJ5 (unchambered ash/brazilian rw)+D'Addario Chromes+Khan Audio Tube DI (like the Ampeg SVTDI)+PA speakers+lady friend with iPhone X in the back of the room.

Very minimal bass/treble boost, VTC off.

This thing is just FAT.

I’m almost afraid to ask this and hear the echoes across the land of “here we go again”...but is there any talk of a whatever you want to call it (German, Chinese, Siberian “modern” in that under $1k range? I’m logging out quick so I don’t hear the groans. Thanks

There will be a MetroExpress 4 string for $899 and a MetroExpress 5 string for $949. Unfortunately, China is closed for business at the moment. We were hoping to do a small first run in March and our first production run in May....but all timeline bets are off now, due to the Corona virus.

Picked up my dream bass today. I just have to get good enough to do it justice now! NYC Will Lee. Starting to relearn after many years out and was trying to find a versatile and well made bass. I have always wanted a Sadowsky and finally was in a position where I could get my ideal bass!

You're certainly returning with an elegant set up. Amazing bass and a really sweet looking little rig too. Congrats.

People come first, I hope the Chinese can get a handle on the Coronavirus and save lives. If that happens, there will be plenty of MetroExpress basses for everyone.

Do the new, regular German Metros have graphite reinforced neck?
i'd think so, but if the neck design did change, it'd have to be with Roger's consent, which would only happen if the new design was at least as good or better than the previous one. His name is staying on the instruments, and he very definitely cares.

Hi Roger, do you know already the prices in Euros for european market (inkl VAT)?

I feel there's a lot to be said about getting what you pay for. Therefore, while I feel the new Metro Expresses will be great instruments and fantastic values, they may not be on the same level as the previous Japanese built models. I'm betting the new Metrolines will be a pretty much straight across thing quality/price wise. At least it seems that's the intention.

But ultimately, time will surely tell.
totally agree now the metro express in wood only body okume, maple neck, maple or morado fingerboard , I'm not sure if for
$899 the pickups and preamp are the same as the Japanese metro express. even so it have the name Sadowsky, I understand Roger is sure where he puts his name. but as you say, only the time will speak.

I know this has been said 1,000 times, but I wanted to personally thank you for your presence on this forum. Your willingness to be a part of this online community is remarkable. Not as amazing as your instruments, but close! :)

Thank you! I consider Club Sadowsky and the Sadowsky Bass Owners group of FB to be my extended family!
