I'm late to the party and ordered what I expect to be one of the last Japanese-made models direct from Sadowsky. I wanted to catch a 5'r in this price range before they turn production over to Warwick (which I am sure will also be great). Ash body tobacco burst with maple neck. Worth every penny and about 1/3 the price of a decked-out NYC. Sadowsky tone, workmanship and playability through and through. Even signed by some guy named "Roger." :)

Anyway, my two cents. If you are reading this post you may be considering one - either new or used. Not much published out there on these on TB, but winner winner!

I agree. I miss my MetroExpress that I sold and would love to have back. They are killer basses. I love my NYC too but for the money, the Japanese MetroExpress was one heck of a deal.

Can’t speak for soap bars - and the answer depends on your tonal goals. Compared with the excellent split coils though, the single coils are lush and very 3-D, if that makes any sense. They sound to me like the best J bass ever.

I finally purchased my first Sadowsky in a Metro model. Excited to see what it’s like.

The bass in your pics has Dunlop Dual Design Straploks on it, but normally no, a Metro or Metro Express would have typical strap buttons. A NYC and Satin Series typically ships with the Dunlop Dual Designs installed. I’m not sure on the Warwick stuff, but the ones I saw posted had Schaller’s on them.

Good that saves me from ordering a set. I run Dunlops on all my basses.

We ran into our Soundcraft desk, and sent a Stereo feed into a Focusrite USB interface into the Mac.
It felt a bit strange to get in the same room as other people after more than two months, kind of like seeing your cousin in the school holidays, takes a little bit of time to reconnect in some ways. But overall it was a great experience.

excellent show! in particular, one of the most legit covers of footloose i've heard in quite some time. most cover bands really skimp/simplify the chorus content, you didn't. also uptown funk is where a lot of bands don't do a very good job, but you did. well done!

I've had a set and personally went back to SD's. that was about 5 years ago tho, so take that into account, things may be different now. anyway, at that time, the nords were too aggressive in the mids for me. to my ears, the SD's were more balanced and sweet sounding tho still with plenty of punch and definition. i have those same SD's in both my current NYC JJ5's.

ever try the SD's? any reason why you didn't just plug directly into the focusrite? and lastly, when did you buy that bass?
