That's a sick top. Resembles the last thing Gollum saw I suspect.

In for the Tolkien references. Any Sadowsky I take to the gig is my own personal 'Glamdring'.
For Father's Day, my wife bought me a LOTR-inspired ring from Etsy. I put it on whenever I want to disappear for a little while.

Granted just about every guitarist I've worked with had never heard of them before. Very sad.

Gee-tar guy I play with locally ... real nice, just kind of a doof ... loved my sound when I finally came out with a Sadowsky.

2nd or 3rd gig, in between sets a fellow bassist is standing there with us, looking at my PJ5. Bass player (surprise to no one) was enamored with the sound I was getting.

Gee-tar chimes in, enthusiastically with 'that's a Skadooski bass'.

Hence my affectionate nickname for my fonk stick. I still run into that guy and he always asks if I have that Skadooski.

On the guitar end, there's a guy in town who has a Sadowsky Joe Pass sig, and that is hands down the most beautiful jazz box I've ever heard. Every note, even up past the 15th fret where those style of guitars gets a little odd and warbly, sounds bell-like.
