I'm very curios to try the fretless version, hopefully in September they will be in stock also in Italy.
3 years ago I personally asked to Mr. Sadowsky, when he was in a store in Rome, if I could order a Metro fretless, but the answer was a polite but firm "no".
I wonder how Warwick made him change his mind about fretless basses in "less expensive" price range...

Ok, I have had a chance to play her now for an hour or so now and A/B her against my other two jazz basses.
Of course, I’m smitten (it’s NBD!), but in every recording of a Sadowsky, either solo in a demo or with a band, I’ve always felt that a Sadowsky “sounds like a bass should sound.” A Sadowsky Bass makes the sound that’s in my head when I think “bass guitar.”
That being said, side by side, solo, my USA Geddy has a really sweet tone, surprisingly warm and full and...nice.
So while practicing solo on one of the pieces I’m working on in SBL’s Players Path, the Geddy sounds sweet. The Sadowsky sounds great too, but that warmth from the Geddy is giving it the lead, by a nose.
Then, I put on the backing track for the SBL piece to play along with and...
there is no comparison, NONE. The Sadowsky steps up and completely blows my other basses out of the park when playing with the combo (electric guitar and drums). It just sits in the mix and shines, sounding exactly how a bass should sound. Awesome.
So this is what everyone has been talking about...and that’s just with a recording, not live.
Ok, I get it now. Thx everybody for reading and thanks to the Sadowsky team for putting out such a lovely instrument. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to own one. She’s a keeper.

For some of us simpler folk, it's something you have to experience yourself. Yes, IMHO of course.
In a store or at home through a small combo, you can compare guitar sounds and the Sadowsky doesn't always come first.
You wind things up in a gig environment with guitars, drums, keys, vocals plus an audience, all hammering away, and then you get it.

If you are fine with Metro Express series, they have fretless ver coming out as well.
...thanx for that hint!For me, the only NYC's I could afford were the Satin series (and I got hooked, bad). Limited options made it easier to choose, lol.. but I did tried to be creative. I haven't seen another Olive Green Verdine 5 with matte black guard, although someone at Squier must have been following my posts.
My bass was made finished 11/18. These hit the shelves recently.. Mine looks lighter due to the lighting, its darker in person.

MetroExpress is from China. MetroLine is made in Germany. As far as I know no "modern" basses are build. Only jb and pj models, including Will Lee and Verdine White.
After stalking fed ex all day. The white truck finally stopped by and delivered my Metro express. I’ll be stalking them again next week but so far I’m impressed

Exactly. I also have a Geddy (older, Japanese) and know exactly what you're talking about... but you hit the nail on the head, when it comes to actually playing along in a mix, that's where the Sadowsky jumps out and shows its true mettle. I'm not interested in dumping the Geddy, I still love it and play it sometimes, but the Sadowsky basses are always first grab. Always.
yeah mij one of the last new ones avail. Exceeded my expectations which were already high. Even though it was the most cost effective in the line. 7.5lbs getting the case out it almost seemed like they forgot to pack the guitar hahhh. The weight of the bass and the case/bag fooled me for a second hahhhah. I’m loving it so far I’ll post some thoughts soon.
do the metros ship with the same case ?
