Anyone know exactly what roundwound and gauge strings came on the 4 string jazz mij metroexpress? Has black on the windings.

The Nordie NJ5 also has that low mid push as well. Nice!I still have my hc Sadowsky jazz pickups but I recently installed some overwound hc fralins and it gave me the low mids I was missing
Great job. You just got to love that Sadowsky tone. You are like a kid in a candy shop!
Nice playing and bass tone. The sound quality of your band playing outdoors is surprisingly good. Everything comes through and it sounds clean and full.
@gustobassman you may be top gig getter right now....? Glad to see you working, and love your posts. Keep 'em coming! Thanks! That's a great way to put it! That bass is so easy to play.. like taking candy from a..![]()

Thank you! Since all we've really been able to do is small-scale outdoor stuff we've had a chance to dial it in a little bit. Low volume helps tighten it up too. I think?![]()

New (to me) Bass Day! Just arrived, one of the last MIJ MetroExpresses, mid-2020 build. First impressions are super positive. This beauty is mint, and plays fabulous right out of the box. I'm amazed at the build quality. Just need to change out the (new, SS) strings for Blue Label nickels and I'll be good to go. Makes a great companion to my NYC Modern 5-24, and will give me a broader palette of tones to work with in the studio. View attachment 4031801

Congrats! Love my mine, simply can’t believe it how great these are, used it on 2 albums already (but sadly still not a single live gig yet..). Enjoy oh and by the way I’ll take those stock SS strings off your hands for $ if you pm me...New (to me) Bass Day! Just arrived, one of the last MIJ MetroExpresses, mid-2020 build. The Japan MetroExpress was a terrific line and build. I was totally impressed with the MV4 I had for a while.New (to me) Bass Day! Just arrived, one of the last MIJ MetroExpresses, mid-2020 build. First impressions are super positive.
Likewise JR! That was such a fun and memorable day, meeting you and the crew. I hope to visit again, when that's possible. I've got another NYC build in mind...to be continued....Todd, Always loved that 5-24. Such a clean looking bass with the MOP fret markers. Pleasure to meet you when you picked it up!

Thanks...On this gig I used a Fender Stage 800 combo with a Vanderkley 1x12 MNT underneath and also going through the PA JBL PRX 618 and PRX 712Focused but fat tone - love it.
Ha! We have a few more down the pipe too.. Outdoor dining gigs are the way to go right now. Here's the full show.. grab a beverage, sit back and enjoy, lol

Just FYI the guy from quick guards told me to just take it off and trace it with a mechanical pencil and just mail him the piece of paper and mine came out perfect, just another option
