I bought both of my German Masterbuilt from Fretnation.
Depends, right now Fretnation does not have what I am looking for. Don't know the details of Thomann USA as it still looks like they are shipping direct from across the pond and don't know how that works with taxes, vat etc, etc.
I am looking for a Hybrid pj 4 string and selling off my 2013 Japan Metro PJ5 as well as a Fender AO pbass - maybe my DB751 as well, kind of in a reduction and simplification phase I guess.
There's plenty if other dealers out there. Bass Club Chicago, Music Zoo and some others just from a search of Sadowsky dealers on Google. Just contact them and if they can order what you want you should be good to go.
I’ve bought a few basses from overseas. VAT does not apply to the US so you’re good there. You will pay a customs fee to UPS or FedEx. And of course, shipping is higher. But with the updates to CITES laws, it’s actually a pretty simple process. Any paperwork requirements are on the seller, so you’re good.
My Verdine White 5 at work! Recent gig shot complete with our new logo... If you look close, the soundguy let me throw my Mesa D800+ onstage instead of having to use the house Aggie TH500. The other bassists were kinda bummed, lol... (@agedhorse, it sounded fantastic BTW)

Another question for the Sadowsky group. Can anyone elaborate the difference between a Sadowsky JJ vs PJ in a mix? I don't slap and play in more of a roots, rock, country genre mix. Thanks for any help!

IME, the significant difference between PJ and JJ is the D and G strings, and IME that difference is most noticeable when slapping, which doesn't apply to you.

Yes, covered alot of Aldean songs over the years with my PJ5! I also really like George Gekas of the revivalists that just moved to Sadowsky PJ's......but he used to play a Jazz and I loved his tone just as much then, and when I see people playing Sadowsky JJ's the mix always sounds good. So just made me wonder if it would sit just as well, and there are many more JJ's on the market it seems.
JJ-style basses (any make) are definitely most popular, but it all comes down to your personal preference. With slap not a factor for you*, PJ and JJ Sadowskys will both sound great in the mix, so you shouldn't sweat the decision too much. FWIW, I'm mainly a P-only guy, and in short, the Sadowsky P is the P-bass I'd been looking for (and we're talking decades of playing).
*It's certainly not the majority, but some players love PJ for slap.
My personal opinion is that you can cut through just as well with a Sadowsky PJ vs a JJ. For my ears and feel I just love the versatility the PJ has. You can coax any tone you want with the PJ and the VTC. I've just never been able to bond with a J and it killed me but I sold my Satin Deluxe J because I just couldn't bond with the tone. I compare everything to my Verdine White and NYC PJ and so far nothing has touched what they can do in a mix.

I definitely understand that. I have for years wanted to be a pbass guy. I really love how they sound in other peoples hands, and I have two Fender passive P's as well as my Metro PJ5. But for the life of me when I play the Fenders i have to have some tone shaping ability on hand to get them to where I want, and My PJ is most often slightly panned to the J and I have never ran it all the way P side. I really have to admit to my self that I am a J guy but just don't want to be for some reason. Just a few weeks ago I played a good sized gig for a country artist and was more than happy using my Fender J with TI flats on it. But when it comes to paying for a Sadowsky I always get myself in a situation where I think I have to have the P pickup to play the genres I find myself in.
