Nobody seems to know where to get it.Agreed, black hardware would be a nice touch.
On the Sadowsky site I don’t see it sold separately.

Thank you!Switching hardware to black is doable but not through Sadowsky.
1) Hipshot tuners are an easy one. Make sure you get the correct version. LIC or USA
2) The thin string retainer is exclusive to Sadowsky. You can get a Hipshot one but it is wider.
3) The Sadowsky bridge is not sold separately. Hipshot A style bridge is the closest but still requires a few holes drilled.
4) Input jack can be found online by Allparts and many others.
Thank you!
It’s clear to me that I have to live with the way it is.
It will grow on me, I hope![]()
Then I will give that a try!If you take to sadowsky he can switch everything out for you. I had my bridge swapped for an 18mm bridge. Amazing what a 1mm difference will do!
I'm not sure if they will list everything on their site that they have in stock. 30th Street Guitars in Manhattan is the same way, they have a couple of high-end vintage guitars listed, but when you go into the shop, there's so much stuff you wouldn't see online.Neither Gruhn or Carters has any Sadowsky instruments listed on their websites.. wondering why they don’t have any listed??
As posted shortly ago, not quite correct.Switching hardware to black is doable but not through Sadowsky.
Right. He might even do an exchange for you and save you shipping, but that's up to him.If you take to sadowsky he can switch everything out for you.

Here's the bottom line... Roger doesn't want his hardware popping up on other basses, so he doesn't sell his hardware separately, but he obviously has ways of supporting changes on his instruments.
not childish at all!! our instruments are a personal thing, and aesthetics matter. it's your bass. do what makes you happy. i personally love black hardware... it's on both my NYC builds. i think chrome is fine, it's on my other Sadowsky basses, but my fave is black. I like how it ties in with the knobs and pickups.I sent him a mail. I hope he will help me.
Perhaps a colorchange is childish but well, that’s me ;-)
Okay, so when Roger says no there is a plan B.Jason also said black bridges will be available soon for order.

I've always thought the standard VW basses without the pickguards looked a little too plain.
And the scratchplate is a good idea,
Indeed too plain looking.
