Sadly, over the years I have spent enough on Rogers creations to buy a nice new car. Still I have enjoyed all them, and the resale value is far better than a new car. So I guess it’s a good investment overall.

I totally get wanting to change that bass. I've always thought the standard VW basses without the pickguards looked a little too plain. I think just adding a pickguard will be enough of a change and just keep the chrome hardware. Somebody in this group has a very similar bass as yours, maybe even the same color, and they had Sadowsky add a pickguard. It totally changed the look of the bass for the better, IMO.

I wanted a standard VW satin but jumped on what Roger had available in stock once he said they where building what they had and closing out the production. The only thing I didn't want was a maple board , color and pick guard didn't matter to me.

That looks fantastic, I wouldn't put a guard on that one. I'm talking about solid color finishes, satin or gloss.

He has offered a pickguard without a control plate. You don't see many of them though...

Anyone care to share some thoughts on the singlecut? I’m about to pull the trigger in a singlecut JJ version.

As you know, I’ve owned WAYYYYYY too many Sadowskys, but haven’t got a singlecut yet

I am not generally a huge fan of singlecuts, but I really love the looks of the Sadowsky Singlecut, and I found it super comfortable to play.

Finally got a Metro Japan Will Lee, my first Sadowsky. I haven't played an honest-to-the-gods FSO for a long time. Man oh man. Everybody is right. The action goes so low without buzzing, the mids boost sounds like a big fat series setting, and the slightly downsized neck width is music to my left hand. Even if I get carried away and start banging with my right, it never clips or clanks. I'm tempted to call these the best highs I've gotten out of any preamp. Late to the party but big fan.

I love mine. The boost is more useful than I thought. Great neck, love the body size, passive doesn't quite sound like an old Fender, but I love the preamp.

I’ve got two SC 5’s… I’ve been very happy with the comfort/playability. Looks-wise, I think the body shape tends to be polarizing—players will either strongly like or dislike. To me, the body feels/plays similar to the Modern 5-24 body, which I’ve owned two in the past. I don’t regret buying the SC model, though wish I’d spec’d J/J’s on the fretted version …

I too have a metro WL Japan. The only problem with it is that it is so good that I have no urge at all to own another Sadowsky. I just cannot believe that there is a better Sad available.

Oh guys, with all these recent post about PJ, a configuration that I personally find out so versatile you're making me wish to add one to my collection

I never liked PJ configurations until this bass.
Love how it blends in a mix.
And Green might be an acquired taste.
