So, I’m still on the hunt for a linear adapter for the SBP-1. Apparently, they are harder to find these days.

Neck Dive
I wish I had a dollar for every time I have had to have this conversation.
All Fender style basses (and many others) have neck dive when seated. It does not matter if the bass weighs 7 pounds or 12 pounds.
When standing, neck dive is a function of the strap you use. If the back of your strap has a slick material (vinyl, shiny leather, etc), you will experience neck dive.
If your strap has a backing that provides more resistance (cotton, suede or anything with a rougher texture, your bass should remain in place, even if you let both hands off of the bass.
This bass weighs 7.44 pounds

not really. the cutaway is deeper, but the lower horn is in the same location.

The Single Cut on the other hand……it’s not comfortable to play sitting down because the horn is shorter and it slips off your leg easily.

Even more shocking when you realize the same tuners on the chinese metroexpress are installed in the $4k German metros......I would expect hipshot ONLY for the cost of a new German.....

Yeah, I'm a couple of weeks into a new MIG Sadowsky, including one band rehearsal in that time, and have so far been underwhelmed with the electronics compared to my MIJ models. Also, didn't realize the tuners were the same as the MetroExpress versions.

Agreed on both accounts. The USA Hipshots were unfortunately a needed improvement on the one German Metroline I have.

Very small difference overall on mine: stock was 7.9 lbs; USA Hipshots, 7.78 lbs.

Out of five, two had noticeable 'catches' in them and felt like they were grinding or something - not smooth at all. Like someone was putting the brakes on, then letting off, then brakes, etc, etc. Then a third tuner was extremely stiff feeling and with adjustment, just became very sloppy feeling - I could never get it to not either be tough to turn or really loose and sloppy. Being used to, and expecting similar feel to, the Hipshot Ultralites, they were just a total let down. The USA Hipshots I've had are just smooth, no catches, no tough turns...they just work and work very well.

Granted, many haven't had this experience, but I'm not alone in my experience either.

They asked me for links where people were commenting about issues with the tuners, so I sent them.....all they said was: "Thanks, we will investigate because we have not heard any complaints about this"

You got at least 2 years warranty,
so they had to change the defect tuners of your bass?
