Club Sadowsky!!!

There are several other Levy’s options with suede backing that grip better, but I do like some give and suede always seems to stretch my shirts from being too grippy.

Hi, Addison

Just bought the Levy strap with suede and und was surprised that it is not only grippy and well padded but not so stiff as other leather straps I was used to - it was comfy out of the box and feels like it was weared already
Thanks for the advice

I have been using the old Neoprene Sadowsky Straps for almost 20 years. As long as I’ve been playing Sadowsky’s. I’ve found them the most comfortable.
Same- I have one on each of my basses (and an extra for my incoming NYC :D). Sad they stopped making them.

Today marks 11 years that I received my custom order Standard 4 for my 50th birthday! (do the math) Seen here with the man himself. This bass is still amazing in every way. Thanks again Roger @Sadowsky for the gift that keeps on giving! :smug:

Happy Birthday Joey.
I just pulled my 2005 Standard 5 out of the case in preparation of putting new pickups in. Either Aguilar or Nordstrand HC’s. Currently it has Sadowsky Single Coils.

I’m always amazed at the workmanship with the electronics of Sadowsky’s. Everything is just buttoned up nice and tight with great soldering.

I have no experience with Aguilar but the Nordstrand NJ5s sound great. I have them in one of my basses. Is your Standard 5 a black/maple if I recall?

I agree on the dressing of the control cavity. I’d be afraid to take it apart!!

I have one for each of my 5 Sadowsky’s
Also have one of the Sadowsky branded cotton straps that I used once. Just didn’t have that give and comfort like the Neoprene straps.
Mega Strap
These are pretty much the same.
Great straps! I have 2 of these. Very close to Roger’s straps with additional sizes.

My Standard is 59 Burst Rosewood board. One of my 24-5 Moderns is Black Maple board. I’m getting Nordy’s put in My 59 Burst Modern 24 along with fret work. Big Splits. My luthier has had it for over a month. He’s super busy and it’s just him. He does excellent work. He worked with Roger at Medley Music in the Philly burbs back in the 70’s.

On the Sadowsky fringes….

Just wanted to mention that I find myself for various odd, disconnected reasons rocking a P Bass for one of my gigs (long story, TL;DW); but, the interesting takeaway is that I’m having a blast getting a TON of fantastic tones going with round wounds through an outboard Sadowsky preamp. I always thought the P would be not strongly improved. Wrong. The Sadowsky preamp really brings the fooonk with the P as well as J types. Amazing preamp.
