Those tuners are no longer available. You can replace them with the Hipshot HB-1, but you will have to have a tech install the headstock bushings, as they do not have the "top nut". You might ask Hipshot if there is an adjustment you can make regarding the slack. [email protected]

Fingerboards a mess. Scratched, blotched. This is a 2020 model, so QC was just starting to be addressed. Electrics are silent. Perfect. As a matter of fact, I ordered a Pre with a VTC, and I’m returning it. The bass is nice and warm with the treble boost off. No need for a tone control. That was a pleasant surprise. With the bass boosted 80%, and balance favoring the bridge pickup, she sounds terrific. Once the fingerboard is sanded, stained, poly’d and polished, it’ll be a stunner. New pickguard, hardware in the plan too. Gonna be sweeeeeet.

Quick question…I was thinking about how long you’ve been swimming in this pool, and wondered, after all these years…..

How many basses/guitars have your name on the headstock? Meaning, In your lifetime, how many instruments have been manufactured under the Sadowsky name…? Original NYC’s, Tokyo’s, Metro, Metroline, Metro Express Japan, Metro Express china, Metroline via Warwick? Warwick Custom shop……Guitars, basses…..Acoustics too……. 5000? 10,000? 15,000? Any idea?

Pretty big feat when you actually think about it…..

So, if you’re so inclined….what do you estimate the number to be?

No matter what the number actually is, its certainly something to look back upon with great pride.

These are some Sadowsky’s I checked out in a St. Louis area store today. The new MetroExpress basses are really nice! I had never played old RSD Hybrid PJ’s with no shielding. The bass I played today is very well shielded. I had to really crank it to hear any hum at all. The JJ is wonderful and I would certainly consider buying one, but bass that really tempts me to go trading or trading a lot of stuff was the Metroline JM5. It had a great blue finish that let me see the wood grain and it was feather light. I am certain it is under 8lbs.I absolutely loved the neck. I understand the string spacing on this model is 18mm at the bridge and it felt just fine to me. Idon

I am sure that is a worthy mod, but in a real world situation, I don’t think anyone would notice hum on the Hybrid I played today. I literally strained to hear it.

I have a verdine and a p/j fretless. Pickups are stock and sound fantastic. No issue with any excessive noise. Just standard punchy single coil tone. Not sure if the expenditure is worth it. In fact, the stock pups are LOUD. Hotter than my other basses, including my Japan 5-24.

These are Sadowsky tuners, made by Warwick. You might try contacting Warwick in Nashville or Germany first. If you want to replace it, get the Hipshot Ultralight 1/2" post, Cloverleaf, chrome.
