Ok, it’s not broken, the wheel is just loose from the truss rod. I fixed it myself.
Other than that a beautiful bass with great action.
Already ordered the VTC electronics and the upgraded pickups from Warwick.

I know that this is technically a Genzler Amplification review, but I did play my Sadowsky "Super P, Super J" in it (please excuse the less than impressive playing - this review was a bit rushed, as we were trying to hit the April 30 release date for the Kinetix).

Does the spacing of the strings (IMHO) seem off?
Way more space on the B string compared to the G string side.

It may not affect the sound, but I may be a little OCD!

Just looked at the pic. The spacing looks terrible. Either the neck is too wide or the bridge is too narrow.

You are correct!
The bass has a 18mm bridge spacing and it should be 19mm, so it will be fixed in the future.
It doesn’t seem to matter to the sound to my ears.

The neck has clearly shifted to one side. Notice the gap in the neck pocket on the bass side near the 16th fret. Just pull the neck over to align the strings and tighten the neck bolts. 18mm is the default string spacing on the MetroExpress 5-string bridges. You can upgrade to a 19mm spacing if desired.

Awesome diagnosis. Great troubleshooting and simple repair. Roger is pretty awesome.

LOL, I owned a 75 Jazz, and yes, if you jumped up and down the neck would shift...throwing the whole thing out of tune.

The neck pocket had at least an 8th of an inch space on each side of the neck pocket. It was also a heavy beast, over 10lbs.

I now own a mid-90s MIJ '75 Jazz reissue that had none of the USA model's problems. Tight neck pocket and a reasonable weight.

And yes, I have owned at least 8 Sadowsky's and never had the problems of my USA '75 Jazz.

Just missed the "brightness" discussion, but yes more than a passive Fender, but like others noted I've got the bass/treble boost no more than %20, use less VTC than I would a Fender passive tone and it's golden. TBH I probably get more life out of round wounds since I have a good amount of overhead to allow more highs on the VTC.

not Sure what’s going on here. Let me explain the best I can. I am running a carvin jb 5, with carvin pups, I believe jva’s, and a sadowsky preamp w/vtc. If I roll the volume up, with the active circuit engaged, it distorts. A lot. Anything above 80% it seems. Leaning on the bridge pup and rolling the bass / treble boost on exaggerates it. I’ve replaced the battery twice. Swapped amps. I’m not sure what to do. I was told to move this question over to club sadowsky.
