Of course.

The ML WL4 shown above did arrive with the stock Sadowsky single coils. Gigs these days are generally safe again with single coils; now that neon signs and quartz halogen lights have disappeared from our stages.

As @Vic correctly posted, the Sadowsky singles are high quality, and spec to that model. For my needs vs the JMVC’s, sort of two flavors of great. I prefer the JMVC’s, simply because they are a bit more versatile for my cover work. YMMV for sure.

BTW, for singles, I’ve also used and like the Seymour Duncan SJB-2’s and Ulyate’s. So, lots of choices.

On my WL4, I mainly use the mid boost with narrow Q at the lowest mid freq to compliment / reinforce the neck pickup p-ish tones. Don’t need it otherwise. No probs with cutting through.

So had a tough time finding sadowsky single coils in stock anywhere that shops to the states. I figured I really enjoyed the Tom brantly Geddy lee set and the sadowsky singles are very close in resistance. But was just curious about the Sadowskys. The Sadowskys are also designed for the Sadowsky preamp which I figure is a good starting point.

Ended up finding a really great deal on the Sadowskys via Amazon Japan and they should be on the way.

I'll take it from the man himself and have no issues with jazz bass noise. Guitar players are always going to be noiser in a live setting anyways. Have have other hum cancelling basses for recording if absolutley required.

Wow, that's distressing. Did you try SW, to see if they could help you source the p'ups? Shipping from Japan is going to be $$.

I actually found them on Amazon Japan $277 shipped for the set. They had 1 of each left. Neck was $123.26 bridge was $138.63. Pricewise, not a bad deal.

This was the only set I could just "buy" without shooting off emails, making calls bothering shops etc.

Almost every single listing out there are for hum cancelling.

This rounds out my goal for most versatile tonal pallete live. The hybrid p/j metroline and the jazz ultra with sadowsky midboost preamp and single coils while also consolidating controls to all sadowsky.

No disrespect to Carey and/or whomever else may be doing pickups for the Sadowsky brand now, but both my older NYC ("plain jane") and my JJ5 custom have the SD singles in them, maybe the best SC's I've heard for my tastes, though I thought they might have been based on the Antiquity line... not sure.

If I am reading JMVC correctly, I think those are the HC's I have in my Japanese ME, and they were brand new, just in, when I bought it. I remember I had to have the shop add route depth to house them, so it wasn't a simple swap, but I REALLY like their sound! I still prefer the SD SC's overall, but dang, those sound good for HC's.

Anyone in the USA ordered directly from Warwick in Germany? Curious about how much you got hit for shipping and additional taxes/tariffs (I'm estimating about $500 total) as well as if they were willing to move at all on price. Feel free to PM me if you are not comfortable posting that publicly as well.

I had tried to but it wouldn't let me when I was looking for the single coils...

Cool! I didn't know that either. Went and grabbed my UV flashlight and charged them up and they look awesome.
