I remember when Kjung and Mikebass had identical RV5's in Olympic white. Kens was an NYC and Mikes was Metro. Besides Ken's being significantly lighter the sonic differences were almost non existent. I do like the lighter weight though a lot. That's why when push came to shove I sold my Metro which was an excellent bass and kept my NYC.

As far as the pick up choice differences. Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy a Metro and order a set of Norstrands if you wanted them? You could always sell your Sadowsky HC's, so I'm sure the difference wouldn't be more the a couple of hundred bucks for the pickup options.

Here's one. I personally prefer matching headstocks on darker fingerboards.

The price difference, it implies on the site, is explained by the location of manufacture, and lack of options (as I have already stated)
As to the sarky remark about licensed tuners, if they are so great, then why not use them on the NYC models as well? It seems a bit cheeky to save a few dollars on licenced tuners when you're paying top-end prices (my original point).
And no, I can't hear the difference between USA made and licesed, but I can FEEL it. I can't hear the difference on my son's £200 squire either, but they're not much to write home about, and I'd be surprised to find them on a top-end Fender.

NYC's: The Sadowsky Tone, Feel and Quality that can be tailored to suite ones tonal and asthetic preferences.

Either way, you're getting a Sadowsky thats going to sound, feel and play great. If you need something more than "basic" than a Metro, opt for a NYC.

Oh and here's a video of my church band playing "While my Guitar Gently Weeps" for a prelude. I posted it in recordings too. I'm playing the MS5 with blue stainless strings thru a T'funk 550 and a LDS 210 cab. Slapping on a Beatles tune (I got that from KJung :D)

Cool, nice playing and great tone, I get a little confused when some of you players mention a MS5 NYC, :confused:

On the Sadowsky website, an MS5 is a Metro standard 5, can't figure this one out, is the MS5 made in NYC?

Just curious, no big deal....:cool:
