Club Sadowsky!!!

Attached is an iphone pic - and the bass on the Sadowsky Website as it was Lanice Morrisons prior.

Will take some other pics later and post - it has some road wear (broken in) and with a recent set up and some LaBella Flats this bass has been surprisingly sweet in the vintage sound.

Wow... just... wow... that's AWESOME looking!!

This is the "maple twin" to my ebony board'd one... right down to the weight and everything. Man I'd love to A/B them to see how they compare.

FYI for any folks lookin' for the deets on this beauty... :)

Just to circle back -- I played the bass for a couple of hours last night and it absolutely kills. As with every 5-24 I've played, the finger style sound is absolutley perfect. It's very tight and punchy and, when combined with the VTC and pick-up blend, can do just about anything.

I have said it before but it's worth repeating: The B on Roger's 5-24 is as good or better than any B string I've played. That pickup combo really brings the speaking voice of the B string to life.

What really surprised me though was how good the slap sound is. Wow - really inspiring. The Maple board and Ash body combo really works on this bass. It's a fun one!

It seems like I'm on a Sadowsky diet these days. I had just sold my PJ fretless to Nenor when I found this for sale:

I thought that it would be a perfect match for my main bass (Sadowsky vintage 4, solid ash, full size body, SC pickups). I could keep one with flats and the other one with rounds. And that would be my cure for GAS (as if there were a cure for it :D).

Then, I'm wasting my time on ebay (I know I should be practicing, but it was very late and I had arrived from a gig) when I find this:
"Sadowsky NYC UltraVintage PJ4, solid ash, one piece body, vintage tint, 8.4 lbs. maple neck"...in one word: my perfect PJ bass. Something that I had never thought it would be possible because I always thought that solid ash P bodies would be too heavy to fit into Roger's specs.

the good news...I won!!! and she's all mine!!! I can say that I'm GAS free now.

the bad news: I'll probably sell my new (to me) NYC UV J4, 'cause I don't really need 3 basses.
