I don't think that is correct. The radius is smaller on the NYC UV, to more match a 'Fender' type feel (hence the term 'Ultra Vintage'). The Metro UV70 just represents a full sized body with 70's pickup position (and blocks and binding). I could be wrong... I've never played the 4 string version of the Metro UV70. The 5 string necks feel identical to the other Metro models to me, and I believe are the standard Sadowsky 12" radius.

The 'UV' identifier that means different things for the NYC models versus the Metro's continues to be confusing, and IMO, should be changed.

I believe that the radius for 4-string UV METRO's is 10" and that the radius for 4-string UV NYC's is 9". You can get a 9" radius on a regular 4-string NYC on request as well (12" is standard). 5-string always have a 12" radius.

FYI, when going NYC, you also can specify the nut width (1 1/2" or 1 3/4" on 4's, 1 3/4" or 1 7/8" on 5s) as well as the string spacing at the bridge (20mm (standard) or 19mm on 4's, 19mm (standard) or 18mm on 5's) (those are no-upcharge options). You can request a custom neck shape as well, although this option comes with an upcharge.

+1 You can do just about anything you want with the NYC models.

I did not realize the Metro UV70 4 string had a difference neck radius than the other Metro models (never played the 4 string version). Thanks for the info.

The UV70 necks, 4 and 5, do feel a little different from MV/RVs to me. Not sure on the details. Maybe a little shape difference due to the binding or something. Its not a better/worse thing at all though, just very slightly different.

Yes that is correct...The OP was referring to the Vintage and Ultra Vintage Metros. As I said the radius on the NYC Ultra Vintage was 9" and it is....the Metro Ultra Vintage 4 is a 10" radius...the Metro Ultra Vintage 5 neck is a 12" radius and is identical to all the other 12" radius necks in both the NYC and Metro line. The Vintage Metro is 12" as are ALL the other models EXCEPT for the Metro Ultra Vintage 4 at 10" and the NYC Ultra Vintage which is ONLY available with a 9" radius as standard. I think Roger will do a smaller radius if you want but I never got that far with it to see. I have owned all of them and know them well... Call the shop to confirm....

You are correct! Good info to add...I believe a custom neck shape also eliminates the 7 day trial period so make sure it is what you really want before you do it!!!

I think you are correct. It isn't literally on their website, but all 'specials', like lefthanded and/or fretless models and LED-equipped instruments eliminate the 7-day trial.

Small derail: I've got to say I was a little bit anxious when I first ordered mine (I'm a lefty), 'cause I'd never played a Sad before, only knowing how they sounded from youtube material and only knowing how good they are (the instruments and the customer service) from this board.
When FedEx dropped the box at my house, it was so light that for an instance, I thought they had forgot to put the bass in it ;). In the end, I'm so glad I made the blind jump, I've got another one on order!

+1 I knew the Metro UV70 5 string neck was the same as the other models, but didn't realize that the 4 string Metro UV70 had a lower radius fretboard.
