Club Sadowsky!!!

You know, I've been playing my RV4 for a few weeks now with my band, and I really totally "get it" now. When I had my other Sads, I wasn't in a band and was just playing at home. I really liked the basses but there wasn't that "spark", you know? Well now I understand. This bass absolutely shines in the band mix. It's absolutely perfect. Nice defined tone, lots of bottom end, all the notes ring out with perfect clarity. It's all I really need in a bass, and that's saying a lot considering all the basses I've been through in the past few years. So yes, I'm happy. Just thought I'd share. :)

Yeah, the tone of this thing just kills. The bass is a UV70 5 string, ash body/morado board with the single coils (not the hum-cancelling). It is strung up with a set of Sadowsky Blue Nickels 40-125.

I really like the bite of the ash and I think the morado really smoothes out the tone. To me, it is a great balance for this bass. It is perfect in my ears.

I could not agree with you more. There truly is a Sadowsky sound that really just fills out a mix. When I play this bass at home, it feels good; but not anywhere near as good when there is a full band behind it.

Are you sure yours has an ash body? I'm looking at the specs page, and it does show an option for ash with morado, but on the in stock page for the UV70-5, it only lists ash/maple and alder/morado as valid combos.

Maybe they discontinued the ash/morado and you got what will now become a rarity?

Yeah, I deleted my post and made a new one. Read my later one. This is odd... I now wonder if this is a "by order only", or discontinued, or their stock page is missing some combos in the list? The bottom line is, their specs page doesn't agree with their stock page.

Same problem here. It's apparently not an mp3 file, so winamp won't play it. microsloth media player will play it, but it will complain that the extension doesn't match the file type, so you have to click to say play anyway. Then it works fine. I don't know what file type it actually is, however.

Yeah, it was weird. I had to download the file, then open it with Internet Explorer to get it to work. It works fine on my mac of course, but my work PC was not cooperating.

Did it identify the file type? It could be as simple as giving it the correct file extension in that case. MS media player didn't say anything useful in the properties it showed.
