I have to say, since getting my UV70, I have been GAS-less.Which is a total new thing for me. I was always buying, selling and trading basses for the past several years. This thing just impresses me more and more each day. Just in case you forgot what I had, here is a pic of my baby. I think I am going with the name Olivia...

The braz rw is off the hook! It's hard to capture it, but it's amazing in person.

I'm not a 5 stringer, not a big fan of matching headstocks, not a big fan of rosewood fingerboards neither and for some reason that I don't understand, your bass put a spell on me, I'm haunted...I hope that a 4 string version of that never shows on the In Stock page.
By the way, that action shot is great.
This bass arrived yesterday. Will get better shots this week.

Beautiful! I'll tell you what, a P Bass with a DB750 is about as far from my 'basic tone' as you could get. However, I totally dig it even though it isn't me, and if I was to go more toward that type of tone, I would most likely have your identical set-up... bass, cab, amp. That must just be full, fat, creamy, but still articulate and punchy.
That is IMO, among the 'best in class' bass and rig for that sort of vibe.

Thanks, Ken! fwiw, I've always been more of a "J-bass kind-of-guy." I've had the P5 for almost a year now. After I received it, I sold my NYC Standard J5 (mahogany/ebony) and ordered the quilted carmel burst ash/maple vintage J5 that I just received last month. So, while I was waiting for the J, the P5 became my main player. I play mostly classic rock/blues and r&b, so it works really well. Now that I have a J back in the stable, I alternate between the two.
And like any TBer worth his salt, I have other heads and cabs to choose from as well!

I spent a little time a/b'ing my 38 year old, tour-worn P to the RV5-PJ.
The Sadowsky, in passive mode, does a great job of getting that familiar P vibe...I think the most noticable difference b/t the two is the Sadowsky's new blue steels.
Of course, in active mode the Sadowsky can get much bigger and more aggressive, and blending in the J pup adds another nice dimension.
Comparing the RV5-PJ and RV5-JJ was fun too; and I think it's nice to have both flavors available.
and one from the wayback machine...if the new PJ is around that long, she'll rack a lot of miles on her too:

Congrats!!! I have to check that thing out when you get it. I am looking to add an ash/maple to my ash/morado.
