Nice. Simple and, quite frankly, one of the best-looking (IMO) Sadowsky's I've seen on this thread in quite a while! Enjoy it.

Been out of town in NYC and read through a few pages here. This is for Paul Lee. I think you can get want you want from any Sadowsky jj. They key would be going for the single coils, not the humcancelling pickups. If you find a bass you like and it doesnt have them, you can always swap them out for the singles. You def dont need a WL to get the tone you like. But, hell why not? LOL. They are awesome. I love mine. They have 3 hanging on the wall at the shop right now. Rob just finished one with an alder body, some sort or figured top(natural) and a braz board. OMG It killed. Neck was absolutely butter and the board looked super. A close second was a sonic blue WL, maple board and ash. YUM.

Lots of killer new metros, a nice sb used nyc jj4, etc, etc. Kid in a candy store, as usual.

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on the tone differences between the three.

I dinked around with all 3 a little bit last night but not enough to give a detailed description what I was hearing. The range of tones that you can dial up on the new P/J is a little overwhelming right now and is going to take some time in different situations to really figure it out. What I know right now is that the bottom end on the P/J is very pronounced and very clear. Again, I was just running through different settings w/o focusing on a particular sound. ( Definately a time for new discovery ) I plan to re string and set up the other two next week to even things out before trying to compare the different subtleties of each instrument. Vic told me that the sound would be huge on the P/J and he was certainly spot on with that. (Shook my pants legs even @ low volumn.) I'm going to take it to a session this afternoon and play with it a little if we have time.

It sounds from some of your previous posts that you might be looking for the same kind of tone/sound/vibe?? I'll tell 'ya this kinda thing really jacks up one's energy level. (gotta stay calm, don't wanna push time...lol)

Some of you'se other guys could chime in now and accurately make some comparisons between the 3 models.

I just received my first Sadowsky today (ordered it from sadowsky.com)--a Metro MV5, Natural finish

It is simply excellent, however, I have one minor concern--on the top side of the neck where the neck joins the body, I can put a .005 feeler gauge between the neck and body, ie, the neck joint isn't perfectly tight. Is this something to be concerned with?

From a tone quality standpoint, it certainly doesn't appear to be--even tone on all frets and no dead spots. And the action is incredibly low--I asked them for low-ish action, but this is the lowest I have ever experienced on a bass. I have decided I will get used to playing lighter, which should help my hand/wrist problems.

Congrats! That one really grabbed my eye. Wondered who got it. Really nice grain and classic.
