Awesome. Dibs?

boy, new sadowsky blue steels got some zing!

I don't believe in pickguards on fancy tops. If I go spalted, no way I'd cover any of that up with plastic...
My 2¢: I'm a traditionalist and think Fender-style bodies look better with opaque pickguards even when they have fancy figured tops. Without the guard they look too boutiquey, and that's not my thing (I say that after having owned some basses with blingy tops and no guards).
I give the 24-fretter a pass... it's Fender-y, but neither a P nor a J!
To each his own, of course. I can certainly understand why some folks want to let their wood hang out (maybe I should rephrase that...)
The age old question...
Tort or Clear?
I know this question comes up a lot. I spec'd Tort but that top and finish really is pretty...

I know a lot of you don't like to put a pickguard on a nice top. Here's my take on it. I have a nice burl maple top on one of my bass and I decided to put a pick guard because to me its like a woman, Its like a nice Victoria Secrets lingerie. I find it more attractive when you can't see everything right away. Some men like a woman with nice lingerie and other like them completely naked. As long as in the end, that neck get to be played.
I'm with FB on this. But not having played a Sadowsky PJ, I can't comment on this. I kinda figure that a Sadowsky has it's own thing going anyway. I haven't heard any active bass sound like my '63 Precision.
And what's this with "wood hanging out"?![]()
