Believe it or not, but when ordering the bass, I actually did ask for a kind of quilt in which I could 'dive'

I absolutely love my Portabag. And like Rob I have a slimbag and had the Undercover double. I sold the Undercover to get the Dub Bag. I don't feel that the Portabag is heavy or a bear to carry at all.
Yes, and one I'm well qualified for at least in distance estimation. Hey, it's just two miles!
(for others on this thread, this is kind of an inside joke from last week's NAMM... let's just say I slightly misjudged how far we were planning to walk)![]()
Okay, first of all I said that I really like the Portabag; in 25 years of touring, gigging and recording it's the best gig bag I've ever had and I've owned quite a few. I also said that it's "almost" as heavy as a hard case. I guess it also depends on what's inside the case. Unfortunately, I don't own a Sadowsky bass (yet) so I've been carrying my heavy KSD 5 string which is 35" scale. In addition, I've got lots of other stuff in the pockets. As I write this, I'm standing on a very crowded train in Tokyo. For those of you who live in places that you have a car, it's really no issue but being a resident of NYC or Tokyo all my life, I can tell you that relying on subways and trains and long walks will make you consider the weight of what you are carrying and what you really need to bring. It's true that the Portabag is lighter than the InCase or a HSC. It's also better and that's why I now own one.
Infamy. That's all I'm going to say about that story...
for now...
Grosh ElectraJet. I have a Std in cream color on order.
Exactly. And it's not fair to compare it to a regular lame-o gig bag, which is the only thing I personally know of that's lighter.its lighter than the Incase or a hardcase!
