The blocks are inlayed. The binding is real binding. They are both plastic.
Regarding the string clearance, what are you comparing it to? It is all a function of the depth of the neck pocket and the neck angle.

Thanks Roger wonderful instrument. The inlays are done very well. I will measure the distance with the last fret depressed. I have a fender jazz lakland jo and two alleva coppolos. When popping I can get a little more meat under the g string and I really dig it.

It's a Standard J. A WL would have one more fret, a mid boost switch and a thinner neck with Ddrop tuner.

Got the vintage knobs from NOLA Bass (thanks again).
Here's a quick view. Color is very authentic except it looks almost solid yellowish-white while it's actually transparent white.

It looks great! If it were my bass I'd cut and glue sone screw heads to the pickguard.

I run mine though a Morley Optical Volume, Source Audio Bass Multiwave Distortion Pro, Dunlop 105Q bass wah, EBS octaver, Line 6 DL4... I think that is it for now. I have thought about putting a compressor somewhere in that chain, but I don't want to take away from my playing dynamics.

It's official I am now a proud owner of a new Sadowsky Will Lee model. For those of you who have been following my threads over the past two weeks I finally took my road trip to Bass Central in Orlando and purchased the Will Lee. I also played a few Metros. The big differences I noticed immediately was the weight. Will Lee 7.75 lbs the lower horn and the mid bump switch "WOW". Looking forward to playing it on my gigs this week.
