The bass actually looks better in person, it's hard to see in the photos. It's not solid black it has what appears to be silver metal flake in the black paint. Can't wait to play it on my gigs!!

I received my '05 Standard back from Sadowsky last week. I arrived home from travel on Saturday night and could not wait to tear into the box. I am very pleased to say the least! Rob LoPrinzi did the work on it and did a great job. He reset the neck and it plays like a dream. He polished up the frets and body and it is like a brand new bass again. I had them string it up with the Blue Nickel light 40-125s this time. Just to try it out since I had been using the standard 45-130 before. I am not sure I like the lighter gauge on this bass. I will probably end up going back to the 45-130 but I want to give these a chance to settle in. Kudos to the Sadowsky team again!

Yep, here are my two pedal boards (for 2 different bands)
The Maxon compressor is always on (on both boards) for a little added punch and keeping the synth and distortion sounds under control

I have an extra set of the Blue Nickel and Blue SS in the 45-130 gauge if you want to trade. I only cut them to fit my UV70. I realized I bought the wrong gauge... I prefer the lighter gauge myself. Let me know.

I have a Keely from a long time ago that I tried once or twice and hated. For some reason I ordered a Markbass Compressore and it showed up yesterday. I plugged it in. Sounds ok, but I was reminded that I kinda hate compressors. The Markbass is pretty transparent and gives some punch, but it seems like cheating and allows me to drift into sloppy playing (especially slap). Probably will send it back.
I am not a fan of compressors either. I like having to be disciplined when I play and I like to control all of the little nuances in my playing. I just cannot get into them.

It's official I am now a proud owner of a new Sadowsky Will Lee model. For those of you who have been following my threads over the past two weeks I finally took my road trip to Bass Central in Orlando and purchased the Will Lee. I also played a few Metros. The big differences I noticed immediately was the weight. Will Lee 7.75 lbs the lower horn and the mid bump switch "WOW". Looking forward to playing it on my gigs this week.

It might just have been my deciding factor for going the extra mile and checking out the WL model. Thanks for offering such an informative service.I'm not surprised.
