I think that makes a difference. I picked up my first fretless about 12 years ago (unlined), found that I was crying more than playing, and put it into the corner until I finally sold it off a year and a bit ago. I realised also that I'd bee essentially working under the assumption that getting my finger somewhere into the right space between frets was good enough. I've been trying to play right at the fret lately, which might help me as well if a lined FL ever steps into my life.
I never seem to be near a camera but have my cell phone at the ready.

Here is my '96 baby, original owner.
I seem to be the only one equiped with Bartolini. I'll probably switch for Sadowsky ones in the future.
I'm not into the club membership but i'm quite proud of my Sadowsky (remind me of my student time when I had to work extra an save to get it), but I'd be happy to get my number.

After being Fender P guy forever, I added a Sadowsky P after being so blown away by my recent 5 string purchase...should have some action shots later, the function photographer last night promised to email some pics...everything a P bass should be minus a couple pounds, plus the incredible VTC....

What finish is that? it looks like caramel but with no burst or maybe natural that has aged to a beautiful amber.

Beautiful. I have a buddy with the exact same wood and finish spec on his older Lakland 94-55, and it looks similarly killer! That finish and fancy top looks perfect with the standard (no guard or plate) spec and black hardware. Perfect!
Nope. I know of at least one other. Eric Tinsley (I think his TB handle is etinsley or something) has a silver sparkle 5 string JJ with barts. I'm pretty sure it's one of a kind. He ordered it custom with a metal flake finish, not just metallic. Looks amazing on stage.

Wow, that's lovely! It wouldn't have broken my heart to have the black hardware, love the look, but I was very lucky to get what I got without waiting. Great looking bass!!!!

I know exactly what you mean. Since I've gotten my Will Lee everything else seems to come up short. Love the neck, love the tone, love the preamp (once I adjusted it to my tastes).

Very true. I really like my PJ Hybrid but the neck is no where near the feel of my WL. The bass just shines.

I must be in the minority here when I say that I prefered the standard Sadowsky J neck over the WL. I found it a little bit too narrow for my hand. In fact a few months after testing the WL I got a PJ with P neck and I loved it from the get-go.
