Club Sadowsky!!!

Hey, I used to be the keeper of that fine sherwood green Sadowsky NYC. Bought it direct from Sadowsky @ '01 ( Roger's sig on headstock, no?) Did I sell it to you? It's great to hear it being played by someone else in a different style. Great playing! Finally got another Sadowsky (and another coming soon) to fill that void that one left. Enjoy it!

The ones on the new Fender American Standards are similarly wicked looking but light. I think the Sadowsky headstock could easily take larger posts, aesthetically speaking...

Though if someone offered me my pick of the three as a gift, I wouldn't let something like tuner size bother me...

I agree that larger posts always look better (my Fender RB5 basses have 'em), but also agree that smaller posts would never be a deal killer.

Dinky tuning keys are another matter entirely. I hate 'em!

Yeah, call me shallow, but I hates 'em. I'm looking into seeing whether there's enough space on my Godin's headstock for some cloverleaf ultralites...

But I'm still in Cleveland with Kira. :( She had a whole bunch of seizures today which got us some good/useful EEG data, but they've had problems getting them to stop. Hopefully I'll be back Wednesday night unless they can't get her stabilized. When we're back I've got to have you over to compare our new Sadowskys!! :hyper: :bassist:

Thanks Rob, and to Tom Bowlus as well for your kind wishes.

Kira had no seizures last night :hyper: and if all goes as planned I will be back home tomorrow night, and the first thing I'm going to do is play my Will Lee. :D

While I thought I was GAS-free, some of the Sadowsky pics I've seen here recently have got me thinking of some day adding either a fiver or a modern to my group, though that will be a long way off.

I guess I'm just wondering if they can hand pick a lightweight body or not. I've never seen a Metro under about 8.5 lbs. yet. The one I have is 8.7 lbs. and is really too heavy for me to use for more than about an hour (bad back/neck..etc.) I don't want to pay NYC prices for a bass if I don't have to since I'm not really looking for a fancy top or anything.

Heh heh. It's barely registering. I think the only reason I have any GAS at all is because it's been a week since I played my WL and it's back in Portland. At this point in the trip I'm so bass-deprived that even an SX might get me excited.

By this time tomorrow, I should be getting back home, and once I've got my hands on my WL thoughts of other basses just disappear.

Once you've spent some more time with it you'll know what I mean. :D ;)

BTW, that sure is a purty fiver, Chef.

How about looking for an older, lighter NYC? My 1998 is 8lbs. and used prices are very reasonable.
