I'm so in love with my PJ4 that it's giving me a hard attack of P-PJ GAS.

The way those woods all work together is simply stunning. The black hardware is a plus as well. Bloody lovely, man.

Hahahaha....you're right, but then they are ALL awesome. Whatever color or wood is showing, they are all Sadowsky gems from the inside out. Amazing instruments.

In fact, for a known natural ash/maple junky like me, if I were to place an order today I'd probably go with a solid color and rosewood board. But only because I already own this sweet PJ:

Do you hear a lot of difference between the two of those Fran? I'm finding I can get just about identical sound from my 5 string with jazz pups and maple board, and my 4 string P/J with rosewood. Different settings, but they can be found. Amazing. Gotta love the VTC.
The J has single coils while the PJ has a P
and a HC.They sound different but not as night and day. I slightly prefer the PJ for fingerstyle and the J for slap, but what I do is having one with flats and the other with rounds, I had my PJ with flats for 8 monts but I swapped to rounds a month ago and the flats went to the J (because I'm not slapping much these days).
To tell you the truth, deep inside, I'm a one bass man (I owned only one bass for 15 years and was completely happy), but it's so hard to think about getting rid of a Sadowsky bass if it's not to buy another one
As soon as I have an afternoon to spend I'll record some soundclips of both basses wuth the same strings and settings.

That would be great Fran, thank you. For what I do, flats are all I need anymore, on both basses, but with the preamp and VTC's I can get all the brightness I would ever need. It's interesting to hear what other players like for tone...
Sadowsky flats are great, I have a couple of sets already broken in and one of those is always in one of my basses. I love the PJ with flats, but I strung it with old Blue nickel rounds a few weeks ago and I loved the different kind of growl.
I've fallen in love with the PJ and I'm way past the honeymoon period; the P neck with 9" radius fits me like a glove (I didn't like the WL neck much). My J is a killer bass, but I'm on the verge of selling it to fund another P or PJ.

I was told that it is shoreline but I think it is more of a frost gold.

That is REALLY nice looking....if I were patient enough to wait for a custom build (I'm NOT!) I would have probably ordered an ebony board and black hardware on my P/J...though I know the P purists would all cringe....
