I do own a Sadowsky 410 cabinet so that should keep me in the good graces of the club

This is what I requested so far...but I did have questions so these specs are preliminary.
4-string with new Blue Labels
Vintage Style on Standard smaller body
Color: Transparent Red
Body: (AAA or AAAA) Quilt on Swamp Ash
Fretboard: Birdseye Maple with 9” radius
PG: White Pearl
Hardware: Chrome
P/ups: Sadowsky Humcancelling with 60’s placement
Frets: 21
VTC and the active/passive switch, treble/bass boost preamp

Basically, I want it to look like #4541 on their NYC sold page. Scroll down about 3/4 on that page.

That looks real nice with that pearl pickguard.
I would like to have one painted Antigua with a ebony fretboard. I wonder if they could do that?

Yeah, I am having a difficult time deciding on that quilt or a solid alder in the same color or dakota red. But for now, I'll go with that quote and go from there.

I have Dakota Red. It weighs 8.1#.

Stupid GAS. I'm kind of glad someone else bought it since it was pricey and I sure don't need it (wouldn't want to have to sacrifice several of my basses to get it), but it's proving tougher to get it out of my head than I thought. I just love the relative subtlety of the burl top. It doesn't scream "coffee table," but has the perfect level of interest in the grain. Did someone here snag it?

This one is pretty nice too, IMO. Love the Brazilian Rosewood board.

here's the bass - spalted maple top, '59 burst - with the white and with the clear pickguard. I think I am keeping the clear ...

Yeah -- on that bass, I think clear is "clearly" the right choice.

FWIW, I find the best pics come from using a tripod and no flash.

Here is a photo of a pickguard intalled on my MS5. It came with a clear half guard that I can switch back to for a little variety. I like the way it turned out, hope others do too. Sorry for the lousy pic.

Thanks! Actually, it was made for me by a local guitar shop(Gravity Strings) in St. Louis although it is similar to what Sadowsky has made for a few others. I designed it with a little more curve to the bottom portion.

Very cool! Jimmy and the boys do great work there. That's a cool 'vintage meets modern' sort of vibe which works great with that bass.
